Google Earth: If you have Google Earth installed you can display the currently available data on your mapping system by adding a new "Network Link".
To do this in Google Earth, simply go to the "Add" menu at the top, then click "Network Link" and enter this link in the 'Location' text area.
http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/links/map/airsoft_xml_cached.php
Give your new link a suitable name at the top, then click OK. The data will then load into your placemark folders on the RHS of your display and then appear on your screen. To refresh the data at a later date, right click on the new network link that you created (it's on the RHS) and click 'refresh'. It'll then pull down the latest data.
Caching: Please note that to reduce overheads this page is generated a maximum of once every 5 minutes and then cached for the interim period. Accordingly when new data is added it may take a couple of minutes to show up.
Add your details? If you are a team, retailer, dealer or business please go to the web links system and add your details there. If you are a player you can add your location details in your profile (check the lat/longitude boxes at the bottom of your profile).
Further resources:
- AirsoftMap.co.uk - another great resource for Airsoft game sites, there's more data held there on skirmish sites that may not be listed here (it's a more thorough resource). If you're a site owner then please do ensure you keep your data up to date on there as well. Frank started the first UK map of skirmish sites and it's still the most complete and up to date resource on the 'net.
- FCC Convert Latitude and Longitude data - want to convert from degrees to minutes and seconds? Use this handy tool.
