I'm very pleased, and very excited, to officially announce the details for a brand new CQB site opening within the M25, based in Bexley, South East London/Kent on behalf of Elite Airsoft (www.eliteairsoftuk.com).
The site itself is an old Pharmaceutical Manufacting plant - 100,000 square feet of an Airsofter's paradise, quite frankly. For a quick top down view of the building (we're working on getting photos of the insides as i type), head on over to Google Maps and type in 'Forest Laboratories' - That'll give you an aerial view of the building. The lease has been bought by John Reddington of Elite Airsoft, and we're in the final stages of developing and tidying the site ready for all kinds of badassery.
The site is in a fantastic location; Parking for 200 cars, and an estimated player capacity of 150, potentially even more. Public transport links are almost certainly THE BEST of any UK airsoft site at the time of this posting - With several bus routes stopping right outside the venue from all over SE London, and a 20 minute train from London bridge rail station; Even on sundays, this is a 30 minute journey from London bridge. It's right next to the A2 for everyone driving, and really is insanely easy to get too. Full directions are at the end of this post.
So, as for the building itself - Picture a chemical factory after Resident Evil. This place is MASSIVE. Spread over 3 floors, the building combines over 100 small offices and store rooms with several huge open warehouse areas, staircases, passageways and everything inbetween. This is a CQB site that you could use a VSR-10 indoors and still have plenty of opportunities before the M.E.D applies. It really is extremely varied, with huge open areas featuring columns for cover, to narrow corridors full of offices. That's not to mention the 60 person Laboratory, complete with lab benches and everything! The atmosphere of the place is amazing, simply put.
As well as all that, there's a HUGE indoor safezone, complete with a HUGE covered outdoor smoking/cooking area. Night games are in the pipeline, and you won't be in a tent - You'll be kipping in carpeted offices!
Best of all? We're looking for 150 Airsofters with their own kit for the FREE OF CHARGE opening game, on Saturday the 10th of July. Should you be travelling far, people will also be allowed to stay overnight at the site from 7:30PM onwards on Friday the 9th, to give everyone a chance to get nicely rested and perhaps explore the site a little before the games start. Unfortunately, the first game is for players WITH YOUR OWN EQUIPMENT ONLY. We're still in the process of finalising a lot of details and organising several things, so consider this game a trial run - There'll be a suggestion box for everyone to input their opinion on how to get the best out of this site.
To book a place, or places, at the free game - Follow the below instructions PRECISELY, please.
Send an E-mail, including your full name, and the full names of other players you may wish to bring along to; Richard.Horgan@Navigantconsulting.com - Please note - Bookings will only be accepted by this e-mail address - I've kind of fallen into this role of helping to organise, and i'm new to everything so i'd like to keep it as Horganised (
Arrival on Saturday is for 9am - Games will commence around 10am, and we'll have staff on site from 8am onwards for the early birds with an entire armoury to arrange.
The major details and directions are below...
FPS LIMITS:
328.0 FPS for all AEG's, pistols and GBB SMG's.
400 FPS for single shot spring rifles - Minimum engagement distance of 25 yards - Players will be asked to demonstrate a decent ability to judge 25 metres.
EYE AND FACE PROTECTION:
Full face protection is recommended, but not essential for players over the age of 18.
Players under the age of 18 MUST wear full face protection (for this first game at least, this may change with a parental consent form at a later date)
AGE LIMITS:
11 +. Those under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
PYROTECHNICS AND LASERS:
Leave them at home - The site is fairly close to residential areas and shops, and at the moment we're not allowed lasers. As such, NO LASERS OR PYROTECHNICS ARE ALLOWED AT THIS TIME.
So, that's the basic information for the free game. If i'm totally honest, i've jumped right into the deep end here - I know there's a lot of questions people will be asking, and there may be one or two minor inaccuracies with certain details - A lot of which i'll need to consult with John before giving a confirmed answer. It's all in the fairly early stages so far, and we're hoping to have a website up very very soon. The main point of this thread is to let everyone know about the place and to start taking bookings for the free trial day. There's also a lot more information to be added, so watch this space.
Finally...
DO NOT PM ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS - POST THEM EITHER ON THIS THREAD OR TO THE E-MAIL ADDRESS ABOVE.
I'll do my best to get back to people as soon as humanly possible, but please note i work during weekdays and i have a bit of a social life, so don't be offended. I'll aim to reply to any queries within 24 hours, 48 at the very most.
It's going to be awesome. Beyond belief.
