Christ, if the marketing blurb is to be believed and the electronics hold up AND the 2 gearbox halves mate nicely, it looks like this system will be what the Systema should have been all along. Good luck to them! Looks like airsoft tech is being pushed forwards really hard lately. Kicking and screaming, but it's a good step.

I'm wondering about the 'electronics entirley in the gearbox' bit. Does this include a fuse and a mosfet, that would be quite cool.

Is it just me or does the gearbox look similar to an ICS split box?

Well, I cant see a customs person really going "Oh dear, that looks like a banana mag and its not an AK mag... CALL THE UMAREX HOTLINE!"...somewhere in germany, a lawyer picks up a red flashing plastic phone, V1s are launched at your house...etc etc

"New electronics that fit entirely in the gearbox, and so the stock tubeis completely free to put 1300 mAh battery."

Bit of a clue.

Back home again.

Well it is similar in that they are both split design, other than that they are pretty much different.

Personally I think that they stopped half way in the development, instead of making something new and unique like the RS M4, they just improved over the ICS split design, which is a good thing, but given how old it is and the future M4 releases (RS; KWA...) they will be struggling to make it a standard. Probably it will end like a niche fueled by a medium price range

Good luck to them though

It does, even the rear of the receiver is longer to accommodate it just like ICS m4's.

As Drake said, the receiver looks longer which is a unique 'feature' to the ICS, what I can see of the gearbox shell from those photos looks nearly identical as well which suggests it is just an improved/modified version of the ICS M4s, which ICS themselves improved in gearbox terms with the split box MP5s which had all of its electronics in the lower gearbox shell as well.

All that aside, it is nice to see some guns be made in Europe now.

At that price, I'd be very surprised if this catches on.

Well, 300€ is close to regular ICS prolines, and having some nice features I think the price is almost justified unless cybergun put their hands in them to make them more expensive

But I think for a middle priced/quality AEG is not terribly expensive, its the competence which will make it hard to catch on

So far, its look promising, we all look forward to get one of them. ;) Have few unique bits and bobs, witch we all love to have on a standard AEG. Stop fireing when mag is empty, push the bolt catch, when puting new/fresh mag in the magwell to start shooting, all them small bits, that we miss in the standartd AEGs.

I don't want to argue, and i'm not that into the technical details, i'm just quoting what I was told.

Well from what I know there is no chanse cybergun are going to put their hands on it :)

As for the price - i think it should be especially appealing to european players. I don't know how will it be distributed yet but being manifactured in the EU should mean low shiping costs and no customs taxes or VAT.

I did get to hold and play around with the prototype briefly this week before it was shipped out to Germany though I didn't actually get to shoot it properly (hoping to get to do it some time soon after the show finishes). One of things I especially liked is the short crisp trigger pull with a nice "clicky" sound to it :). The selector switch was also very crisp and very much PTW like. The buffer tube could hold a large 1300 lipo and yet fitted within the buffer tube completly so you could complety colapse the stock. It also has a quick change spring in the upper in the cylinder set. Can't say much else for now as i didn't get to test the other features and one of the few things i did manage to ask - if the Magpul BAD lever would work on the gun and the answer was "yes".

This.

I think a 450usd EU retail price is very low for a gun of this level, made in the EU.
Looks like there's quite a bit of parkerized steel parts on it too.

From what i can see, it mimics the ICS on quite a lot of areas. Looks like normal AEG gears too.
I have signatures disabled.

Lucky bramston pickle... ;) Did you have a look at the hop up? is it a regular M4 hop? redesigned? something more like the ICS hop?

Certainly looks like an impressive gun, full of features

But ICS Prolines are like £290, so if this comes with added features and electronics and so on, why would that extra tiny amount make a big difference?
