Just seen this posted by Land Warrior Airsoft on their facebook page:

AEG, running at about 300-330FPS, real wood stock...

So, we've gone from a dearth of M1 Garand replicas to having two being worked on. WW2 re-enactors rejoice?

According to Land Warrior, the G&G is due for release in June...

And NeoVeNoM, that's what I meant by the title of this topic! We've been waiting ages for a decent Airsoft M1 Garand, and now two have come along at once, just like buses...

I thought the rule was three? You know, you wait all day for a bus and then three turn up, all at once?

If it don't go 'ping!' it ain't got that thing! :)
For every gun you sell and do not replace, a little kitten is placed into a woodchipper.

Well some weeks ago went with some people to the shooting range, and stood behind a friend who was shooting a Garand, and damn that "ping" is really loud ! Wasn't expecting it to be that loud for sure...

I don't think I'm going to get the G&G, about 4 weeks ago I was working on a G&G M14, and that thing is miles and miles behind other brands I worked on, overly complicated and finnicky, you just can't get that thing shooting as good as other stuff ... Some weird choices they made on the internal part of the AEG. real weird.

Everyone that has owned one that I know off always has something the matter with it.

Compare that to an Marui M14 and well, there really is no comparison :D
Looking at the pics, they just redid the frontend and made the magazine flush with the body... No harm in that because the m14 basically is a reworked and full-auto M14, but those internals ! aiaiai...

So my money is on the ICS one to tell the truth... a lot of Dutch guys who play over here in Belgium abide by them... and they are right... They just keep and keep going, internals are rock-solid, very good AEG's...

So if they keep following down that line... that Garand should be a winner !

ICS *fruitcage*ed up by designing an AEG with an 8 round magazine. I love the Garand and the whole en-bloc clip system, but if anyone really want to sell an M1 on a good scale it needs to be at least reasonably practical.

I know there's those out there who skirmish 6-shooters and bolties with iron sights etc, but that's just not the norm, it's a niche, and a small one at that.

Just an M14 AEG, with internal mags so it looks like a garand which hold about 30-40 rounds, is that so much to ask?

Well you got a valid point there, completely true... I recently got a Tanaka m36 just for that purpose, trying to shoot somebody with one or two BB's is fun :D .

I am all for as much realistic AEG's as possible, but for a weapon that is going to be outfitting complete WO2softers it maybe a little to little BB's, There is a limit to replicating real steel... I don't think it would indeed be that hard to have 40 BB's or something like that...
But I am still going to get it :D

I think some one once said the best ratio for airsoft is 3:1 .. so if a mag was originally 30 rounds make it 90 and you will be bringing it down to the level of accuracy and range we have in airsoft.

The G&G says 20 round mags which is all right .. 8 just seems silly but I do love ICS.

Thats actually kinda surprising given ICSs track record of only making hicaps. Well back in the old days when ICS used to communicate with Arnies (via FarEast) we could give them feed back and request larger capacity mags. Its still possible theyll release larger capacity mags or atleast include multiple mags with it upon release.

Yea, the 8 round mags could simply be for the hard core re-enactors :P

I would much prefer an ICS I may wait until it comes out before purchasing one just incase it does come with bigger mags as well.

I'll certainly be keeping my fingers crossed for some good news.

Unfortunately the world is a *suitcase* place where bad and stupid things happen all the time so I doubt my finger crossing will have much effect.

The ICS Garand doesn't load using an en-bloc clip, though, right? Doesn't it load from the bottom like an M14? If it loads the way an M14 loads then isn't the only limitation on capacity the actual size of the magazine? I mean, theoretically, couldn't ICS build a magazine that stuck out of the gun a bit, but held more rounds?

I Guarantee An Awesome Increase In Radness.

I don't think it would even have to be physically bigger to accommodate more BB's... I think the 8 BB's were a choice rather then an accident in designing.

We'll just have to wait and see I guess
