I keep seeing the word 'Decent' in the same sentence as 'G&G M1'.... And it's puzzling me.

Has everyone forgotten the V1 G&G M14s?... They were pretty 'decent' too- they could keep a whole pile of papers from being blown away in the wind if placed on top of said pile. For skirmishing?: Less useful.

While I'd be most chuffed with an AEG M1 for my early 'Nam Advisors loadouts, I'll wait until the reviews come out....Once bitten twice shy with GnG's product.

Yes - they are lovely. But totally impractical for skirmishing...

I never said they would.... What I'm saying is that GnG V1 anything tends to be hit and miss.

Yes- I agree- in this case they should just be using their already shaken-down M14 guts which should be fine.....But in my experience there's a long, long chalk betwixt should and a certainty.

The marushin actually pings out the clips right? Damn.. I'm actually considering one now, 650 isn't too bad for a new 6mm compared to the prices I've seen elsewhere. Are the internals at least serviceable or are they junk with a lack of replacement/reinforced parts available?

DO NOT BUY. They are junk. If you want one as a wallhanger I have an 8mm one thats broken I could sell you (for pretty cheap too). I dont know how serviceable they are, but finding parts I imagine is not easy, or cheap for that matter.

The 6mm was released much later than the 8mm though. Not sure why they're much more expensive, could be from better internals but that's just speculation. Finding parts is not as hard as it seems either:

lol did you see the price? And I dont know if those are all the internals... I dont know whats specifically broken in the 8mm I have but there looks to be quite a few more working parts than is pictured. Not to mention it had problems holding gas before any of the other mechanical problems.

I wonder why they chose to announce it so late when theyve obviously been working on it for awhile considering it appears to be finished (compared to the ICS which is still a plastic mock up and was also announced for at SHOT show).

The Marushin is great as a collectible but I have to agree that it's utterly useless as a skirmishing tool. I never did manage to get my 8mm one shooting reliably, in the end I gave up and sold it to my mate so he could use it for reenacting and I sunk the money into another AEG.
