Looks like Psyphyer has been busy, I just saw the announcement of a new drop-in FET on his page called the Raptor. Here are the features of the FET. I don't see it announced anywhere else :-

I assume then it will be in the same form as the Airsoft Systems Control Unit (ASCU)- a trigger unit that replaces the old copper block and a external mosfet. Question is, can they get the price low enough to compete.

@LordElpus: well, estimated price is +- $80 and IIRC the price for the ESCU is +- $100? Plus, I like the fact that's it is just a straight drop-in. The ESCU needs a few tweaks and small modifications.

Can't wait till this one is made for the next gen V2 GB Posted Image

I have being looking at purchasing the Stealth from AWS, but have being holding off for sometime. I think I will wait until May and get one of these instead!

Lipo protection and Burst in a Drop-In is the decider over the Stealth!

I'm definitely getting a few of these for my teammates and myself. We were just about to order some of the AWS Stealth Fets, but we're really glad we waited for these.

The Stealths are very good - Psy veered away from AB and Burst originally in the Stealth due to overheating worries and such. Hopefully the new design is as reliable as the Stealths are.

Sounds good and the drop-in feature makes it rather more appealing. Having become accustomed to the Systema PTW, I would be keen to emulate a similar performance in my AEGs and I believe this may be the option. I especially like the idea of a DMR mode for my SAM-R, is this likely to be a viable method for snappy trigger response?

Yes. Just like the PTW, the Raptor/Stealth and the Airsoft Systems Control Unit all fire at half trigger and because it replaces the old copper block there is minimal chance of the gearbox locking because the unit will always complete the cycle.

Excellent. I watched through the video on their front page for the Stealth unit, looks like it would be a good time/reason to make the switch over to LiPo for my AEGs as well.

interesting, it is starting to look like they may have squeezed it all onto a multilayer pcb, so it will be totally internal.

How is the ROF control and precocking done? Does this involve 'on start up timing' eg five semi shots ala TriggerMaster/Cheetah?

Really interested one of these for my high rof gun and some of the 'dumb' drop ins for the standard guns I have around...

Back to precocking..would there be any discernable difference in precocked trigger response using a normal gearset and this fet set to precocking and a dumb AB fet in a set up using a modified G&G sector gear which will trip the cut off at a different point that 'normal' to enable precock?

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

i would imagine the precocking works by doing a half cycle initially, then using some jiggery pokery to unlock the gearbox when you next pull the trigger (like you can do using full auto on a locked gearbox)However there is the danger that your gearbox will lockup if your battery isn't man enough for the job.

Right...I might just revert to the dumb AB fet for my DMR.

A drop in ROF controlling fet is a huge bonus for me, I'll be looking to order both once the Raptors are available.

Bear in mind this is how i guess they have done it. it may be far from the truth.

Heck I'd just love a Version three of one of these for my AKs' insides. I have so many, that a nice replacement would be GREAT! I know it says coming soon, but I'm a little impatient, lol. Sorry. How soon for ver 3 gearboxes?
