aznriptide859
Just got this email from Justin (following another one he sent earlier in the month): The issue happened for more than 1 month time, here's the update: i thought i can get back the money so that i have been shipped out 4 more 249 kits to 4 customers (Jesse / Finland), (Marcus / Sweden), (Danger Close / USA), (Alexander / USA), on 2-Dec-2011, please see attachement. But now i think i will loss that 4 kits also because i cannot feel that i can get any payment from Opforce "Ian Mazzochi"http://www.airsoftgasblowbacks.com . So i can't ship out anything more because he own me money. Not to talk the old list amount, the current project he own me is another US$3,321.37(pls see attached file) , we argued for whole month and i said this, he said that, nothing was settled, so this is a deadend~! Now his website is still using my photos and receive payment, you can check that in facebook (Airsoftgasblowbacks Gbb). He is selling his own products but i don't know why if they can do they should use their own photos, not mine. Our workshop have been already closed and there is no more DG, I have changed my job and nothing related to airsoft. I don't have any relationship with Ian Opforce http://www.airsoftgasblowbacks.com and any other issue about him is none of my business~! Please help to spread it out all around the world~! Thank you for supporting DG in the past. What i know is that there are at lease 5 poeple paid him and cannot get the stuffs. Pls take care before you pay him. Thanks If I'm reading this right, DTG is stopping production due to lack of funding/being cheated out by OpforceAirsoftBlowBacks. Shame...I always respected DTG.
Sallinen
I read the same news in CA.net Very sad thing. I was waiting to acquire funds so I could give him all my monies and make him do my wishes(DTG dual MP7s). I suppose thats not going to happen. I have the DTG AK kit in my Guarder AKSU and gotta say I love that thing. Hopefully he finds some way to get back in the airsoft business and do more great stuff. He had FAL conversion kit and G&P bodied M4s in the doing and I was really waiting to get my hands on one of those M4s...
Grindstone
That's a shame. Every DTG owner I know speak highly of his work. His absence will leave a void in the airsoft world.
P.S.I.
WOW, I'm glad his guns are/were better than his grammar. While it sucks that DG has to close, it's like going to leave that big of a hole. The remote gas set ups are not exactly the most popular. Besides there's still Polar Star and Escort to fill that niche in the market.

Besides there's still Polar Star and Escort to fill that niche in the market. There's a lot more to DTG than just EAS. P* doesn't have the GBB feedback that the cycling bolt of DTG products provide. Also, they are regarded as some of the most reliable and well-performing on the market, better than most "classic" airsoft guns such as Escort and Sun Project. And I personally can never find it easy to mock someone who speaks more languages than I.
Korppi
It is a great shame. Not only did he make new kits&guns he also made spare parts with affordable prices. Hopefully somebody can fill the void. This Ian/oppforce is a major *albatross*.
Wingmann
He is/was running a very small business and being owed $6000 is a hard blow It's a shame that good working people like Justin can't enjoy a nice business because of the greed of others. My SP will miss his parts.
adadqgg
What I am getting out of that message: Do not buy Opforce(what a dumb name...) stuff, they suck.
KTcerberus
Shame, I've owned 2 M249 kits and an XM110 that he custom built for me. I was thinking of selling the M249 but now I think I'll hold onto it.
Robin-Hood
Damn that's tragic. I always dreamed of owning a DTG AK.
Wingmann
Anyway, DG is just a brand. He might be back with another venture in the future.
Horsem4n
there was another side to the story. ian had ligitimate complaints against justin, not just what it appears. i am sad that DG has closed, but i think the void will be filled soon.
mysl1
there was another side to the story Care to share it with us?
Horsem4n
hmm, it looks like the topic on ca.org was taken down, but ian was talking about how justin was violating a contract about distrobution rights, never following deadlines and a couple other things i cant particularly remember. kken
I have never had a problem dealing with Justin/DG in the past and have always had problems dealing with Opforce. I actually got out of escort guns because I now had to deal with Opforce, it was that painful. I'm sorry to hear that Justin is getting out of the game, hopefully he'll be back. frogfish
Escort is not around to fill this niche, Escort is done when it comes to commercial airsoft and even custom jobs unless you know Tawada San personally, and P* in my opinion is a completely different system that has some serious failings not present in many other simpler "classic" systems. DG will be sorely missed, as every airsofter who is serious has at least once owned an Escort based weapon, or wanted to own one. I doubt this niche will get filled quickly, the technical know-how and tools needed are not very common.

cazboab
Indeed Samm, I've just changed the title to avoid that very confusion.
HellsJanitor
DaytonaGun is closed, but Tnkrizzo is apparently handling US sales until april. He's currently restructuring/ taking over the business on his own.
Horsem4n
well, as long as he has stuff to sell. i don't remember him talking about anything along the lines of manufacturing anything. either way, i hop these guys get back on track somehow.
Simo_Hayha
What happened to sniperx? wasnt he part of the whole escort/DG group? If he was, I can see why they ran into problems. Hiring people like that is a sure path to failure. I swore after dealing with him once I'd never touch another Escort.
kken
Escort, yes. DG, no. Justin/DG was a complete separate venture based out of HK. He was just a big Escort system fanboy who had mechanical knowledge and access to a machine shop and knew how to improve the system beyond what Escort could do or was willing to do. And he actually filled orders, whether it was his stock products or custom jobs. He ran into problems apparently when his US-based partner shafted him out of $6k in funds or so, which is a lot for a single guy to take a hit on.
HellsJanitor
Sniperx left the business and closed his shop years ago. He was a really helpful guy, I never heard anything terrible about him. Worst was that he was a PITA to contact and that his wait times were long. I contacted Tnkrizzo about an AK kit and his words were "There is going to be a business restructure that will not take place until about April. In the meantime, I will be the only sales person in the US for DG, or formerly DG."

Worst was that he was a PITA to contact and that his wait times were long. You must not have dealt with the classic niche much. SniperX was caught in a bad place, he was hard to get in touch with, and he was the middle man for Escort to the US and Europe. Miss-communications were made, mistakes were made, and many people got caught with money spent and no product. I'm sitting on a $400 debt from him since 2007 that I will probably never see. TNKRIZZO is a standup guy, he too is stuck in a bad place, but he WILL do the right thing.

The only interactions I ever had with him were helpful and positive. I have heard of horror stories like yours, but I can't really blame him for what happened across an ocean. I'd rather not get into an argument over it, SniperX holds no real significance on the present or future.
