Doesn't have to be...the Bizon has been on the "rare but wanted" list for a LONG time.

I hope those midcap mags work with my GWS Bizon. I just don't have the time to convert my hicap Bizon mags into midcaps.

I also hope that kit is easier to put together than the GWS kit was. I'm glad I had GWS build my gun. I've heard horror stories about people trying to assemble those.

Wow, out of left field this guy is. I am horrifically excited right now.

The only issue is that, according to red alliance, the mags are 160 rounders. What the hell? I can't carry that many of those mags on me. Ill have to carry 6 just to hold the normal amount I carry on me loaded into mags. I have m16 mags that carry more bbs. That thing I gigantic, they could have done like 250 or 300...

I'm still buying it though.

The problem is that unless they're going for an actual helical design (which is unlikely but would have been pretty cool), the actual usable space is just a little more than a Thompson M1A1 stick mag based off my own testing on my hicaps. The Bizon mags seem like they'd be huge in pics, but they're mostly just bulky. They do fit well in RPK mag pouches for what I recall. I remember at one point wanting to test the mag figment in paintball pot harnesses ... Never got around to that though.

Touche USMC - that paintball idea is a good'un.

If they do fit then I suppose carrying four in one of those paintball waist band holders would be cheap and easy solution. Not at all accurate, but then again does anybody even know what pouches a real Russian operator issued with a Bizon would use as his pouches? Did the Russians ever produce any Bizon pouch designs?

Looks nice, maybe I'll buy it and then, "magpulize" it? :D

I shall now procede with burning myself to the ground. :flamed:

There's always a way to bodge a buffer tube on to any given rifle.

The more people whinge and cry about it, the more motivation I gain to do it.

I've done it to a sidefolder :D

You gentlemen have my sword. Magpul pp-19 sounds like fun.. I just hope this won't end up being vaporware like the zeta labs AS Val.
WTB: stock dboys long type motor (should have a blue/silver sticker with chaoli on it)

I'm tempted to shove my extra 105 folding stock on this, then tack on a PBS1 - would be pure gold. :)

No it's not real-world military accurate. That said it is real world practical.  From what I understand the Bizon was mainly used for protection details. Which means most operators weren't carrying more than 1 to 2 spare magazines, and probably only wore soft armor. If someone had to carry 4to 6 mags on their person, keeping all those mags on the small of your back horizontally is the most practical solution. Granted, carrying more than two mags means that you'd lose the benefit of concealment, but if you're carrying that much ammunition you've got bigger problems anyway. The other downside to carrying magazines in that fashion is that it's not ideal for a supine shooting position but it is great for most other shooting positions. As crazy as it sounds paintballers are actually onto something there. :P

The way I see it, militarily accurate it is not, but it is practical.

hmm, really? I was up in the air about preordering it when it was announced, I thought the release date had already come and gone with not a hint of VAL.

The release date is sometime between now and February for the val.

the release date is soewhere between now and just after it's released ;) This is airsoft people, or have we forgotten? :P

It will be released, eventually, they'll promise as soon is it's possible to make it assuming nothing goes wrong, then after what went wrong got fixed etc. Once you see an actually prototype, it's generall coming eventually, as they've spent too much to consider not making it :P

Nope.
Just a joke :D
I didnt see Corps post about the mag, honestly i thought you could fit a very large amount of rounds in it, akin to its RS counterpart, but depending on the quality, i may have to buy a hi cap or two. even with the aid of an vest, the mag soultion will be clumsy.

The mag of this holds about 3x the rounds of the RS one. Not enough?

There's a lot of people that use AR hi-caps with at least 10x the round count of the RS one. What does it matter?

In logistic terms, yes.
But then again, you can only fire one BB at the time. Dual and more wielding not included of course.
