I suspect that's the full trade version of the WE17, sold under a different name to avoid legal entanglements.

I got to see a WE G17 the other day, much better finish than I expected. If only WE could have put that level of detail into their 1911's.

WE are rebranding or distributing the H.K. PX4 in some areas. I wonder if the WE Glock and the H.K. Glock are the same under the skin, and also who the real manufacturer of both of them is.

I bet you the OEM is exactly the same, this one being simply a traded version. Looks great, the trades are actually accurate/in proportion.

It's a WE copy but with the correct (as far as I can tell from a quick glimpse!) trades.

Armed Forces first started to sell the frame and slide marketed as a direct drop in for the WE G17; and now for a slightly more expensive price (~HKD 140) you can get teh WE glock decked out with the "HK" correct traded frame and slide.

I haven't picked one up myself but I HIGHLY suspect that it comes from the same factory that makes the WE G17 as the looks and finishing are identical to the G Tactical / WE trades on the normal WE G17.

guess it is another rebranded version of the Meister G17, but overall seems not that bad.

NO. I have both a Meister and a WE17; the internals of the Meister are made from dried noodles or something.

I believe HK3P makes the WE along with this model, the clone PX4, and the new Samurai Edge.

Forgot to add the "Socom Gear" Timberwolf to my list of suspected HK3P-made guns--a clever way to sell Glocks in the US without inventing a silly looking space pistol.

the WE one is just horrible, freaky shape and retarded marking, extremely inconsistent in emitting gas when shot in fast mode.

I'm not crazy about the way the KWA ATP looks, but IMO, it looks a lot better than the Timberwolf. Especially once you stipple the ATP's frame.

Odd. Kojak and a few others seem to quite like their WE G17's.

It does have dumb markings, hence the non-WE-branded HK3P version in the first post. :D

SOCOM Gear's pistols in the past have all been WE made - wouldn't be surprised if the Timberwolf was WE-made. Hopefully not HK3P made though, they make good clone pistols.

For G17, go TM directly or nothing.

The WE one externally look the same as the TM bar the trademarks. In fact the plastic used on the WE seem to be better than the TM ABS plastic (I've heard it's a nylon mix). All the review's I've read say the gun shoots well during skirmishes (which I'd assume people shoot quickly) and other than a report where the mag leaked temporarily (but was gone after a few charges of gas) the WE Glocks hold up very well.

Out of interest; can anyone tell me whether the real steel Glock uses plain ABS plastic as well or is there some type of fibre reinforcement in the plastic? :P

Looking at the spare mags between the WE and the Socom Gear (for the glock) on RW it would seem like the mags are the same with only the WE mag's baseplate having a "WE Tactical" (IIRC) writing and the Socom Gear one have the "Socom Gear" writing. There isn't exactly a ton of manufacturers making a TM styled Glock (only TM, Meister and WE or HK3P, whatever factory they use..actually I'm not sure whether the newer TM-copied WE p226 and Glock are even made by HK3P) so I'll think the TimberWolf would be made in the same factory as the WE Glock. Probably an easy comparison is to have them side by side, the internals are probably the same and I'll think the frame material between the WE and the SG would be the same as well.

As a side note; I THINK (and I hope) WE is stepping up their game on their new pistols. The new Glock seem to be a bargain considering the only other durable replica is the TM one (Meister one sucks right? And there's no other manufacturer who makes a TM styled Glock IIRC) and although I'm not sure about the WE P226 (I haven't read a review yet) the externals on the P226 is very nice (matte paint) compared to the glossy hicapas and 1911s that they sell and fail.

The original design of glocks use a Polymer plastic, not a fibre reinforced nylon or similar. From the old police model i handled, the plastic felt very similar to the TM's frame.

Thanks for the reply :P It's hard for me to judge materials in Hong Kong since I can't have access to RS weapons.
