Avenger96
So, the Vintorez has always been my dream airsoft rifle, and it looks like people here have made them. How would I go about doing one myself, compromising between affordability and realism?
renegadecow
Depends on what skillset you have or if you can hire someone who has them. Starting from the easiest to the hardest: 1 AK SVD hybrid - Start with a Beta Spetsnaz and stick on a JG SVD stock. Stick on large suppressor at the front. Stick on PSO-1. 2 AK with custom parts - Start off any AK and make your own VSS wood stock. Keep in mind that the AK receiver is about 20-30% larger than a VSS so you need to scale the stock up or it's not gonna look good. Remove whatever front assembly you have on (gas tube, sights etc) and fit a fabricated VSS handguard. If you can't make one from scratch, you may be able to start off by extensively modifying existing AK handguards. Modify magwell by adding material at the sides sloping to the base of the trigger guard. Stick on large suppressor at the front. Stick on PSO-1. 3 Zeta Lab VSS - They're in the process of making one (AEG) in case you didn't know. You could just save up and buy one when they're out. Not sure how much they said they were to be but it was around $400 I think.
Avenger96
Thanks a lot. You're VSS is actually what inspired me to try and make one, after daydreaming about it for a few years now.
