Hey,

Just saw this on Youtube -

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/yMf6z8Jkwh4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Looks quite interesting weather or not it gets off the ground is a different story. As for gas efficiency It may be one bulb per mag due to the recoil function.

Seems interesting could be a new generation of sniper rifle.

"hey guys you know what makes sure people buy guns?" "errr skirmishability?" "SHELL EJECTINGS DURRR"

a worrying collection of 'authentic' and repro Nazi badges and other paraphenalia. Felt like i was in Mel Gibson's house, all it needed was a few posters of himself and a few other questionable things and it could have been.

Its a sniper rifle so its not as bad as pistols/rifles. Theres allways shell catchers!

Shell ejection is just plain silly unless you are using it for training purposes, but I don't see any reason why they couldn't make a none shell loaded mag like that Top M4, there by giving best of both worlds?

Interesting, im loving the idea of gbb recoil on a l96 but the shell ejection will be annoying, lets just hope its accurate.

Love the idea, they just need to ditch the shell ejecting aspect (would be great for film-softers though). Were the G96s ever confirmed as being compatible with the KA/Spartan Doctrine VSR hop conversion kits?

Well shell ejecting gas guns have been around for a while, as have gas snipers. Marushin makes gas-powered shell ejecting M1 carbines, and I've seen other shell ejecting snipers, so it just doesn't seem that new.
But it is nice to see a "mainstream" maker like G&G doing this.

It's not just the shell ejection but the production of recoil on a bolt action that it's new....

G&G have been on the comeback lately, but unless this

a)is some sort of jesus gun when it comes to performance

b)is cheap enough to fall into the "screw it, me wants!" category (See King Arms Blaser for reference)

c)has the CO2 regulated or stable enough that it doesn't need a regulator

i just don't know how you can justify the purchase of something like this.

I would be happy with one out of three.

Maybe the shell ejection function can be turn off or it just takes using a different kind of magazine to work without that silly show-off function.
Not being GIM might mean there is a regulator shove into the gun somewhere, that would be a huge improvement on non-canister gas airsoft rifles, better consistency is mandatory.
Let's hope they pull this one right, innovation can never be a bad thing.

well I have to say I do not like the m16/m4's because everybody has it, and the realsteal version is ###### as well
it never gits the job done with the first shot it can take up to 5 shots to take down a terrorst reason being it was
designed for jungle warfare and it was ok for that, but when it comes to desert warfare and terrorst its ######.

OMG...

I also see another problem straight away, with the recoil, i doubt the CO2 will last more than 20 or 30 rounds, and then you need to take out the buttpad to replace the bulb? not very practical, only way to make it more anoying would be to require removal of the whole stock to ajust the hop-up.

But still, the "want" is strong with this one...

It is something like this that would make me want to snipe!

I used to have a Winchester style under lever air rifle made by Walther. It fired .177 pellets and used 2 bottles in the stock. I think it fired between 60 and 70 shots in between bottle replacements.

Is CO2 more consistent in the temperature variations or would this be a summer only gun? (only fired my air rifle at close targets so i never noticed any power loss / gain due to temp variations)

If this was significantly more accurate over distance than a tuned AEG, could be used all year and i didn't get my pants pulled down over the price of replacement cartridges, I would get one in a heartbeat.

G&G wasn't too far from that with their G96 it was packed with G&G upgrade parts pre-installed, if not for that nozzle situation holding it back (it was way too short, caused huge consistency issues and it was integral to the bolt, only way to get it out was to drill it out.)
I came real close to getting one, ended up getting a STAR AW.338, but i'm ready to give G&G a chance, at least fix the damn nozzle!

I thought british snipers were trained to catch shells from firing these.

People just need to learn how to do that.

They are also trained to hit targets above 70 meters!

But in essence you are correct. Open the bolt slowly with your finger and thumb and your hand spread toward the muzzle you should be able to cover the ejection port and "catch" the case as it ejects (assuming the mechanism will be of a high enough quality to allow a slow ejection)

A small dump pouch somewhere suitable on the gun and the job is a good 'un.

Failing that, ghetto mod the rifle so there is a shell catcher attached (again i making assumptions of reliability and consistancy of the ejection mech)

I read somewhere that there will be two versions of this. C02 and Green Gas. CO2 bulb will be located in the buttstock while the green gas version will have gas tank inside the stock under the barrel.

I will get one of this for sure. I play on Milsim events, so this is just exactly what I want and the challenge of using this is a plus bonus for me.

Just one thing, G&G, please come up with m24 version. Not a fan of L96.

I wouldn't bother with the green gas version, fixing leaks on internal gas tanks can be a real pain in the *albatross*...
