DarkLite, whilst you were in HK, did you get chance to test the CQB version (R50)? (http://www.airsoftpanda.com/product_info.php/products_id/2790)
I'm curious if these versions also have the working bolt catch?

I ordered my R50 from get-reload.com yesterday.
I will come back with news when it will arrive.

Working on it. My knee injury is not really healing as fast as it should and I still have limited motion.

However, some more internal info:

- 8mm brass bushings
- Takes standard M4 motors and grips fine
- Takes standard AEG hop-up rubbers, nubs and barrels
- Stock tube fits a Magpul CTR and ACS stock fine, but doesn't like the G&P 6-position stock or DBOYs SOPMOD stock.

ARES are like a stupendously hot girl with no vagina. It all looks awesome, and you get really excited, until you get it unwrapped and realise nothing you thought was going to happen is actually going to happen.

http://www.rsov.com/product.php?langId=1&currencyId=1&manufacturerId=15&prodId=15508&cateId=0 any idea if those mags would engage the bolt catch? Anyone installed a tightbore barrel? Are the internals standard Marui ones or some fancy ones? Last, but not least, the hop up unit-I'm sure it's not like the Marui-godlike-hopup, but does it deliver the needed amount of "hop"?

BTW. DarkLite, how's your leg doin?

Tightbore wise it takes standard TM barrels, so any 363mm one will fit. The Internals are the same as the TM EBB series - but with steel gears and metal 8mm bushings. The Hop-up unit is the same as the TM, very good, but some of the parts are not fitted tightly out of the box, so a strip and rebuild is worth doing.

Supposedly the battleaxe mags are clones of the TM lowcaps. I dunno about them - they're really expensive for a lowcap and a lot of the pictures I've seen of them show really, really poor finishing, especially around the bb loading port.

However, they are supposed to activate the bolt catch. I can confirm a TM lowcap will activate the bolt catch.

On one hand it is expensive as for a lowcap, on the other hand still half the price of marui one. Well, I'm still waiting for a review to finally decide if to order this gun (already got an G&P M4 that I'm happy with). If I'm gonna get it I will grab a battleaxe mid/low cap to check if it is works fine.

I'd rather have the 82rd TM mags... I hope we get some mid-cap clones soon.

Sorry, i didnt read it right. Another question: is the pistonhead and the spring one part like the tm one? or is it easily possible to change the spring without opening the gearbox?

The Pistonhead and spring set-up is just like the TM - linked. The ARMY clone chronos at 360fps with 0.2gs though.

When I opened the gearbox, one of the only things I did was unlink the pistonhead and spring, because with the spring sticking out of the rear of the gearbox it makes it a massive pain in the *albartroth* to remove the gearbox from the lower receiver.

Have a bum knee? Put on a leg brace, some leathers and talk like an Aussie. Meanwhile, it probably won't be for another month or two before these pop up locally and you'd have likely sorted out your knee (or Road Warrior loadout) by then. Really interested in one of these as it takes near forever to save up for a Marui.

You wanna die with a man's gun. Not a little sissy gun like that.
