I always hear their stuff is ridiculously overpriced and of terrible quality.

I'd second that too (in terms of their gunsmithing services, bar changing the externals of the gun). They "upgraded and tuned" a friend of a friend's gun and with the sheer amount of oil and other ###### in the barrel (I think that guy spent ~HKD900 on upgrading alone) it would've been more beneficial if he had just never upgraded the gun.

I'm not sure if the gun was shimmed correctly too. Then again almost every airsofter I know (including a few paid techs) have never learned how to shim a gun correctly so I wouldn't be surprised if any 'shim job' was merely done to loosen the gears if they were binding initially and to slap on a whole lot of grease into the box.

EDIT: Oh and might as well mention this too. DENTrinity's gunsmithing services are also ######. I diagnosed this first hand when an airsofter at a game gave me his gun to see why his 'tuned' G&P SR-25 had shots spreading at ~20 meters. Granted he was using 0.2g bbs but the spread was horrible. opened it up and saw that whoever at DEN did the install for the First Factory hop chamber pretty much damaged it so that the dial would never be able to lock into position again (the guy didn't even know how to take his receiver apart or know what a 'hop up' is so I highly doubt this was self-inflicted....was just some guy with a lot of money and an interest in skirmishing from what I can tell). Without the hop up working that's why his shots were flying all over the place at 20m. >__>

Now I'm not advocating to those in Hong Kong to stay away from these gunsmiths as it wasn't a first hand experience myself so take it with a grain of salt if you will; but nobody had reasons to lie about their experiences in those two cases above and I felt like those horror stories should be told.

I went into GWS once, although the guy (Felix) knew what he was talking about, he wanted HK$10,000 :greedy: for a SIG 556 DMR (way before KA done a version)
I made my excuses and left.

Felix and the guys at GWS do some of the hands down most authentic looking finishes on their guns. That said I would avoid buying kits from them as their kits aren't typically "production ready" (read as parts do not readily fit together properly). If you get a custom gun from them have them do the full build. Even then, the end result is debatable in terms of reliability. But it'll sure look good.

GWS' workmanship is terrible. I had him paint my ACR as he promised he could match a color for me. Turns out the color didn't match and the paint peeled off within a week. Upon closer inspection it turns out he did not even remove the charging mech before painting so the charging mech was full of paint and became stuck. Took me an hour just to clean that mess up after I got home. Not only so, but he gave me back the gun with 2 hex screws (the two big ones on the receiver) and a roll pin missing. When I went back to ask him for my missing screws, he said he lost them and said the only thing he could do was give me some flat head screws off of a WE M14. What's worse is he made it a big deal that he had to take it off of a WE M14. I found it very strange as to why he could conveniently lose BOTH identical screws (one on each side). FURTHERMORE, he charged me a ridiculous price for the work and took more than 3 months to do the job.

Suffice to say I'll never go back there, nor will I ever recommend anyone to be a patron of theirs. His work may look good in photos or in a display case, but don't expect any of his work to last.

EDIT: Just an FYI, there are no "Felix and the guys" at GWS. It's just Felix and his mom (seriously) that run the shop.

Just out of curiosity, does the SA AR-15 actually look like that? I recall they sold the wood stock, grip, handguard set in the 80's, but I never knew they made complete rifles.
Have a question? You might find your answer here.

LOL... No she doesn't really do anything. Sits there to probably keep an eye on him and his finances...
