Announcement: ASCUK Forums soon to close, ALL READ

It's a sad day for us here at ASCUK,
After years of serving the UK Airsoft scene we have decided to call it a day and move on to other things (we will still be active in airsoft, skirmishing etc),
Although we are sure some of you will be disappointed with this news, we ask that you respect our wishes and allow us to go our own way and to let ASCUK slip into memory, Some may think threads asking us to reconsider will make a difference, trust me, it wont, we have looked at ways to continue with no results.

We have a timetable of events which lead up to the closure which shall be mid August 2007 (One year since Myself and Beaker took over, and our hosting ends) giving all of you plenty of time to find another home for your future in Airsoft (which we hope is a good one)

With Immediate effect ASCUK closed to new members, Queries and Errors forum closed to new topics, Closure of ASCUK sales forums to new topics,
End of May Switching off of the PM facility on ASCUK (please switch to email if still conducting sales) Closure of the gallery to uploads (photobucket folks)
Mid August Total closure of the forum.

This gives forum users 3+ months to grab anything they want to archive off of ASCUK, as the forum will be removed totally from view, No archive left. (team forum holders take note)
It also allows any sale entered into to be completed in a satisfactory manner, or gives time to sort a sale out if not so satisfactory, users moving to email also ensures that we are leaving knowing you have all your communications usually handled via ASCUK sorted out.

I'd like to on the behalf of the team thank all our supporters, be they individuals or companies, without you ASCUK would have ceased to exist last September, A big thanks to Airsoft World for their support and aiding us with our competition at the beginning of the year,

This will leave a big hole in the UK Airsoft forum scene, but I am sure it will be filled quite quickly,
Hopefully all our users/sites/retailers will see this information and sort themselves out a new home in plenty of time,

If it's there now and you want it best go get it and save it, maybe an idea to post some of the info on here if it doesn talready duplicate stuff

As long as they arent as rude and aggressive on here as they are on ascuk then i guess they are welcome lol.

Will miss the sale forums, the only reason i got on there too

Read the news page ragarding our server issues. We are having them looked into and fixed. With the fault diagnosed this site should not run slow for another 3 years. We're on a massively spec'd server now.

I have had disagreements with the mods there for various reasons and I do like to see some healthy competition, but I do wish them all well for the future.

Ill leave it there before I get anyones backs up

I'll second this motion. I was just about to put my G-Spec up for sale on ASCUK

ASCUK was the first airsoft forum i found and was a good home for me till they had some DOS attack issues which led to a huge block of ip's getting blocked. Then i came here an prefered it and never looked back.

I do admit i prefered the sales there.

There's a lot we want to do here in terms of upgrades and fixes, but that comes after we get things stable on the new machine. Next up is the major software upgrade, then we'll tweak things some more in terms of look and feel.
