Um... do they actually mean 228, or is that a typo? 'Cos a 226 I'd be interested in, but the 228 doesn't really appeal. And yes, I know there's not much difference in size, but it matters.

I was wondering the same thing.  The white mock-up at Blackhole was a 226.  I only pray this release is correct.  I love the 228/229, even if it is the uglier railed model.

if they release a 228 instead of a 226, i'm going to start stabbing, and i may not stop.  every promo thing they've released has been a 226, and it would make no sense for them to change it this late in the game, so i'm banking on a typo.  else, i'll be ######.  very, verry ######.

I hope it is a typo myself, been looking forward to getting the P226 ever since I first heard about and as I missed out on the Tanaka version I been wanting it. I guess will have to wait and see but truth is all the model's shown were a P226 so is more than likely going to remain a 226 and not the 228.

My guess is that it´s just a typo. Marui gun will most likely be the P226RF they´ve been promoing for some time already. According to some rumours, they planned P229 model first, but didn´t get their new blowback mechanism to work right in smaller gun.

But, I´ll believe one when I see one. Their P226/P228/whatever SIG has been in the works for such a long time, and release being postponed every now and then, that I tend to take Marui´s statements with a pinch of salt. Too little, too late.

Very true.  Anyone who's read the Marui instruction manuals and catalogues knows just how often statements get butchered in translation.  Besides, even if Marui did release the 228/9 first, you can bet the 226 is coming shortly thereafter.  

Again, I'd like to point out just how much I want a 228/9.  It would really be perfect my "Guns of the DHS" collection.

when you say crud what do you mean? as in the parts inside the gearbox or what? sounds stupid let me elaborate - do you mean they are generally ###### inside or just gearbox parts? - because i will end up replacing the gearbox parts with systema stuff anyway... - but if the rest is cr*p then i might need to reconsider.....


yeah i can't believe they haven't brought a Sig Sauer out already - after all they are slightly more common in the world than a steyr GB!!!  

i love the things - they just speak of precision engineering and efficiency - an ideal assassin / bodyguards weapon! - which one is it the swiss police use? - i forgot to check while i wqas out there last summer - i think it 's the P228

well g+g interals are not up to snuff that includes the gearbox itself. G+G needs to get on the ball with that stuff. also this is gonna be a new gearbox design so that also makes me weary on it. im waiting for the TM m14, think about how long the  tm m14 has been in development and during that time we hear nothing of G+G m14. now G+G sneaks out with a m14 4 months before TM does. g+g knows the m14 is gonna be a big seller  so they think they can sneak in and steal a few sales from TM.  i have been waiting 2 years for the TM m14 i can wait 4 more months
