wow, that certainly adds a lot to the sig, I really like it. now, if only someone like laylax would make an m4 stock adaptor like the did with the g36 series.
I'm back...

Quite a bit more than I was hoping to pay. Hopefully some ACM boys will clone this thing and start running off ones for cheaper...

'Hopefully' being the key word there.

indeed an outrageous price tag....what would the HK street price be?....$200? 180..I would have paid maybe $120 tops....

Overpriced bullshite. I wouldn't even pay $80 for one. Stuff like this is relatively easy to machine, if not down right easy and straight foward.

Don't you just love these little games played by airsoft manufacturers.

ok, then when you start paying for raw materials, and CNC machines you can come tell us that an RIS rail is overpriced. until we see these we can't comment on the worth of the piece and if the price tag is appropriate.

Bottom line: If you feel it's too expensive, don't buy it. If a manufacturer over prices an item, they will feel the repercussions... eventually. However, if enough people do buy an item hence making it worthwhile for the manufacturer to maintain such prices, then nothing will change. Some may feel that this is overpriced. Perhaps they're right. But the truth is, none of us know the amount of R&D time that went into it, the cost of the materials and labor, what the tolerances were for this item, the quantity that were made, and if in fact it's almost a 100% copy of the real thing but made to work with AEGs. Yes, eventually a Chinese Clone shop will probably copy these. But from what I have seen the Chinese Cloned parts are typically pieces that are cheaply cast... not CNC'ed, and that makes a huge difference in strength and quality of the part etc.

Another thing is that the first post was a MSRP. Just because that's the MSRP that doesn't mean retailers will be selling it for that amount. They may sell it for a lot less thereby cutting into their profit margin but staying competitive with other sellers.

I have yet to see any CNC'ed part of that size and quality of finish to be sold for less than $100. There's a lot more that goes into finishing a part than just machining it. But hey, if you can do it to the same levels as that and sell it for as little as $80... then do it. You will make a lot of money and redefine the machining industry in general. Good luck with that.

A lot of factors to consider. So if after the first hand reviews come out you still don't feel like it's worth the average market price for the piece, the solution is simple: Don't buy it.

well if it's coming from PROUD I bet it's very close to the real thing. I mean getting a real B&T RIS for the SG552 alone will cost around $400

Exactly. There are those willing to pay $400 for the real thing. There are those willing to only pay half that much. And there are those only willing to pay 25% of what the real steel version costs. To each his own.

Yeah I had a go at making a one off Sig 552 RIS frontend and it would have cost me a bit less than the MSRP but just wasn't worth the hassle. I spent about 4 hours each night a 3 or 4 nights a week for just over 3 months and I wasn't anywhere near ready to have it machined. It REALLY is a big job to try and go from thin air to finished product on your own and making a market first is extra *fruitcage* hardcore if you're going it alone.

@fal - Dude, I don't think you know exactly how much is involved in making a product like this. Even the CAD work to get it ready to be machined can give you massive headaches. It takes ALOT of planning and measuring before you even begin to work on the CAD design. This isn't the type of thing you can go headfirst into and make progress immediately. If you're serious about making one drop me a PM and I'd be happy to help.

Anyone have a time frame to when the proud units will be released and if they are can you kindly point me toward that direction as I haven't found a retailer that has it is stock yet.
