Just released about a week ago, and finally available in online shops, PROUD's replica Universal Flash Light Mount. This mount is based off the Badger Ordnance first generation flashlight mount for the SOPMOD system (which is now discontinued by Badger Ordnance).

Proud's reference pages: Black Mount, Dark Earth colored Mount.

Available at WGC in Dark Earth / Tan and black now.

It's designed such that it can accomodate the vast majority of hand held tactical lights with differing outer diameter bodies.
I should have one by the end of the week for a first hand review. Looks very promising and high quality so far.

am i the only person that thinks it's really ugly? i understand the principle, its just... ugly. looks like it'll catch on things, for those bothered about the high speed low drag stuff, and who's going to change flashlights halfway through something? which would neccesitate the need for the thumbscrews.

I wouldn't say that it was low-profile either... but it was deemed functional enough to be designed, developed, manufactured and frequently sold out to RS users by Badger Ordnance. As for low drag, with the number of raped M4s (both RS and airsoft) I'm seeing these days... two thumbscrews isn't going to make a huge difference to the low drag issue. I wouldn't say it was exactly my taste either, but I'll decide that when I receive mine this week.

Yes it's bulky, and see all those knobs where stuff can be snagged on? I've seen these mounts on real steel M4 pics from Iraq of US GI's though. Id prefer the Insight M3X/M6X, those were starting to get issued, a Surefire M951 or just a regular 6P/9P type light on a 1 inch light mount...
