Well the body will be fairly sub standard due to the plastic. I think hissing sid said that it could be done for that price yeah. But you have to remember that theyve fitted a new barrel and hop up unit. Even then the price should be only £80ish more than the standard gun. But they charge £15 an hour i belive on upgrades.

So i would still just buy the standard and mod it yourself as they havent made the gun use tm mags or changed the sight problem.  For the technically minded you might aswell buy it standard for a project gun. For a noob who wants an aeg SA80 its not too bad.

Hmm. Parts required:

1. TM/M90 spring
2. TM gears
3. Spring guide (I think that Sid said v2 would fit)
4. M16 barrel (although this might be longer. I'd have to go look)
5. Systema M-16 HOP (just arrived in the post, yet to be fitted)
6. Motor (if you're planning to run 8.4v batteries)

Converting to an L86 takes a lot more work - and it's not clear from either description or photograph whether it's an L85 or L86 upgrade. The photo is the same one they use for the L85A1, so....

The L85 is the one they are selling. The L86 is a classic gun they put in the picture just for looks.

Hows your L86 project anyway?

Damn. Don't remember posting here!

(Very) slowly. But surely. The Systema HOP is a perfect fit, but the TM selector is a bitch.

It's now looking as though I'll have to transfer the TM bits to the Academy casing.

A bit of long hard thinking required...
