Sick of Knights Armament M4QD replicas being the only suitable Scar suppressor? Private Parts Airsoft has just released their replica off the Advanced Armament Scar-SD, the same suppressor SOCOM ordered for their Scar-L's.

http://redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/...il?prodID=23098

EDIT: PPA had licensing from Advanced Armament for the SCAR-SD.

oooo, sexeh.

Considering the name of the company that made the silencer, it should be.

I officially love PPA. They are the only airsoft company I know of, who have some humor in them. Intentional humor that is, not chingrish.

Like the name of the company and the logo, still gives me a chuckle. Plus, all the stuff they have released is original and seems of a good quality.

*looks up the logo* Haha!

Well it all reminds me of a Beavis & Butthead episode, where they called themselves Private Parts and Major Woody.

got it in the mail. flashhider is steel (not 100% sure, i dont have a magnet around). Rachet system works, has foam, finish is something to be desired (i.e. semi gloss).

Max sig size 400x100.

I just recieved my PPA silencer and im quite dissapointed.

It is machined very well but it was definately not made for the CA scar.

The problem is that the silencer threads in the same direction that the flash hider threads off which means everytime you attempt to use the attachment ratchet method of putting the silencer on, you unscrew your flash hider.

The ratchet system is so tight that you've really got to torque the silencer down.

Blah, did you have the same problem with your silencer?

....the picture of the flash hider in blahs post show a set screw (like TM), did you tighten this?
What if you oiled the ratchet part to "loosen" it up? Anyone know what the threading on the new VFC Scar would be? Wondering if this will fit it...

My unit is defective.

Even with the silencer off of the gun i cannot get it to tighten all the way down onto the flash hider.

It seems as though the flash hider or the silencer body is not threaded properly

Nice PPA, thanks for the defective product.

EDIT:

Ive contacted redwolf about a potential return/exchange. We will see how this is going to work since ive never shipped anything out of the united states.

I have also emailed PPA to see if they have anything to say for themselves. Im fairly certain im not going to hear back from either company since we all know how wonderful aftermarket sales support is in the airsoft industry.

there is a grub screw you tighten, its already on the flashhider. In fact, the screw is so small, i've accidently messed it up to the threading of the grub screw, that my flashhider ain't ever coming off without a way to drill the grub screw out. Other than that, no probs with my set.

the silencer should go on smooth. With the ratchet system, the silencer should just go click click click, tight, but untighten with a flick of your fingers.. Definitely, call redwolf if aint doing that. double check where its rubbing...u should be seeing noticeable wear on the flashhider finish where its not meshing. My flashhider has noticeable wear on the "screw in portion" but thats nothing out of the norm, since i've been playing with it alot.

good luck with RW, they should replace it for you.

Ill let you guys know.

Blah, there is noticable wear on the flash hider but i still cant for the life of me tell why its not threading on.

Im guessing its just horribly misthreaded since the threads in the silencer show NO wear whatsoever, they're just that beefy.
