I'm guessing if you knew what it was a replica of, you wouldn't feel sick, you'd be saying "cool".

While I understand that it's a target pistol, no, I'm not 100% sure what it's a replica of. Either way, it's ugly.

The grip looks a little too smooth to be secure feeling...maybe I'm just spoiled by the PSS-300's stipple wood grip. Isn't KSC supposed to make a spring model as well?

I don't know about that one.

Maruzen's design is pretty cool though. At least to me it is. There is an air chamber thing right below the barrel, and you use the lever that also acts as a small trigger guard to compress the air. More info is on RedWolf's site.

I do want the Star PSS-300. Looks really cool.

yes and no... for a target pistol this design is cool but I still feels sick cuz I have doubts about how accurate a airsoft target pistol can shoot. People do shoot sub-0.5 inch groups, anything less than pinpoint accuracy would seriously affect performance... these airsoft target pistols don't really have a use unless your country bans any form of firearm or air gun which would make this better than nothing but still far from acceptable... it's far better getting a air pistol, costs about the same depending on model but perform far better for this application... personally i think airsoft guns should only be used for airsofting...

I think, with any gun like this, you can only judge it close-up.
It looks nice in the pictures but if those blue parts turn out to be cast, rather than machined, then it's going to detract from the quality of the gun immensely, IMO.

The counterweights, particularly, look a bit rough to me.

The counterweights are for decorative purposes on an airsoft gun. They're much too light to do anything effective.

I'm not sure they are decorative. If they add balance to make the gun sit more level in the hand then they work. They're not only used to counter muzzle-flip.

Besides, whether they work or not wasn't the point. The point was that they look roughly made. On a gun like that they should look like tiny machined weights, irrespective of if they are only decorative or not.

You already know the answer to that. If it looks like a gun to Joe-Shmoe then it's affected by the VCRA.

Well, the design seems to be an "industry standard", as most of the RS target pistols feature weights of that style. Those weights are supposed to be made of steel, but the material KSC probably used should account for barely a fraction of the gun's overall weight. Hence my comment about their (them?) being decorative.

I think even Joe Schmoe would have trouble thinking this was a real gun, it's about as close to looking like a real gun (or rather, those that the public see) as a paintball or laser tag gun.

I used to own a .22 target pistol exactly like this, and a pellet pistol for practice. Feinwerkbau was the make. That may help you determine if it's VCRB applicable or not.

I used to shoot target pistol for giggles but I shot three position air rifles competitively and even though there is no recoil those little weights can make a huge difference in your shot consistency no matter how much they weigh.
