I can't find any info about these anywhere, but there are now 3 Magpul silencers listed on WGC. They look a lot to me like the Gemtech Halo.

Well it does say 'By Gemtech' right on the silencer, my guess is they struck a deal with Magpul to brand it with their logo.

I want the GUN.  Wasn't there some scuttlebutt going around that Magpul was going to do an airsoft Masada?

I do like the anodizing on the suppressors.

Interesting...

Did gemtec come up with some sort of business deal with magpul to market their silencers for the masada or is this just another hodgepodge amalgamation of airsoft goodies?

I'm guessing they are as they are the Gemtech Halo and the only company that has the rights to produce these is Madbull, MagPul is probably paying license rights to rebrand them.

I was reading a thread on militaryphotos today about the masada and someone who is apparently 'in the know' made it clear that we shouldn't expect the real steel until mid 08 at the earliest. Well actually he said that people shouldn't get their hopes up for a Q1 2008 launch, but that's pretty much the same thing.

That's right.  So it will be interesting to see if Magpul launch the airsoft version first.  The CEO told me a few months ago that the airsoft version will be intended as a training weapon and will be as identical to the real steel "geometry" as possible.

But in the meantime, it's interesting to see that they are launching a fairly regular trickle of accessory products to the airsoft market.

if the AS masada is supposed to be a training tool with exactly the same geometry and controls then there is practically no chance of it being released before the final release version of the RS is ready.

Unless they make it for AS players and collectors like us over making it as a training tool, we won't be getting it any time soon sad.gif

I wouldnt be surprised if its another year and a half before we see the AS version of the masada, unless another manufacturer decides to come out with one...COUGH, VFC, COUGH!!!!

Man, wouldnt that be nice?  tongue.gif

I wouldn't see the point of buying a replica when the real steel manufacturer would bring one out that would inevitably be better.

Thats not necessarily the case.

Magpul has ZERO experience with AEG gearboxes as far as we know.

While there is no doubt that the externals of the gun would be better than anyone else could hope to produce, magpul may very well design the worlds worst aeg gearbox.

You've got to remember that some of us care about two things in our airsoft replicas, the way they look and also the way they perform out on the field.

I thought the Masada was going to be a kit anyway? And don't make the mistake of assuming that I'm an aesthete.

I think it'd be taken as read that the internals of a purely Magpul Masada would leave a lot to be desired. Its funny tho how you've suggested that VFC make a replica. They've hardly got the best reputation for internals themselves.

Yes but VFC for the most part to this date hasnt come out with a crapton of proprietary parts.  Their guns thus far have used standard version three and version two parts.

God only knows what kind of wonky PTW style gearbox they could come up with.

In the end all of this is only speculation.  We will have to wait and see what magpul comes up with.
