Dang, and just when I bought the King Arms 16 incher for my M4... I wasn't even aware that a 16" barrel was in service with anyone...

Nice.

So this is actually a one-piece barrel? Unlike the King Arms barrels that have the chamber block and then the barrel that is held to the chamber block by one little set screw?

It's not a true one-piece as the breech area is a separate steel component which the main section of the barrel locates into.

i don't get why companies INSIST on making "one-piece" barrels that are actually two piece. its infuriating.

true one-piece barrels for the win!!!

Well, for one thing that little coupling bit that most "one piece" barrels have allows the length of the barrel to be adjusted so that the handguards can seat properly between the delta ring and the retaining cap...

I suppose if you use RAS this is less than a problem.

that depends entirely on their structure. most of the ones i've seen have simply been to save materials and are completely unadjustable.

It's far better to shim out the barrel nut from the upper receiver with large washers than to have a multi part barrel. You only have to adjust it by a fraction of a millimetre, surely, to accomodate all and any foregrips.
