I think it's a hoax:

1st: this is an MG3
2nd: these are probably pictures of the Ultima MG3 AEG (which costs about 2000us$

Everyone goes on about stuff like this being a Hoax. You all said the M249s were a hoax, the SPR Mod 0 was a hoax. These have both been released

I woke up this morning feeling pretty down then I checked Airsoft News and this cheered me up a bit.

I'll be buying one of these when it gets released and I will use it with lots of joy.

Forgive my immense lack of knowledge on everything MGxx related, but it looks like an ancient support weapon, the difference? It has a rail. If it's got rail rapage, then it's almost certainly Chinese.... tongue.gif

Edit: The only thing that does look slightly hoaxesque, is the fact that the dates have all been blanked dry.gif

On a serious note though looks nice, certainly do want! smile.gif

Actually the MG3, which is just an improved & reworked version of the MG42, is still being used & produced (altough not by Rheinmetall anymore i think).

The railed version does exist irl.

I've got an Ultima MG3 - though it is now wearing MG42 bits and pieces. The pics on Airsoft-news.eu look *exactly* like the Ultima product - as in 100% the same. I have yet to see a Clone that is 100% the same in every aspect of its manufacture (normally the materials its made from)

I await conformation or denial, either way. Though i do quite fancy a twin MG42 AAA setup biggrin.gif

I will be away from the 14/09/09 to the 16/09/09. If I do not reply to PM's about sales items I've not done a bunk - it's just that I will have absolutely NO internet connection for those three days.

Well apart from the fact that the MG3 got lots of improvements the basic design didn´t need a change as it´s still one of the best support guns in the world. Btw. SG´s like the M60 were all based on the good old MG42 design.

However, I´m sure if any chinese manufacturer would announce an even more "ancient" browning Cal.50. everbody would go totaly crazy about it wink.gif

I don't think it's a hoax, people with sources talked about this gun awhile back, this is nothing new or surprising.

Funny thing is, having 'softed with an MG42, its possibly the WORST support weapon for use in gaming. It's bloody huge, unwieldy, a git to carry (even when slung) and a total arse to fire from the hip with the drum mag in the way. For practicality, a 249 or 60 is a much better bet. Still, if it does come out, it'll be another gun to add to the collection biggrin.gif

Sadly it seems to be a hoax... Compare it with the already mentioned Ultima MG3:

It even has the rail...
