QUOTE (Airsoft News)
Hot news from China- picture of Kalash Airsoft (aka Boyi) AKS-74, called RK-02 Plum RK74S. Not much more is known at this time, but usually it doesn't take very long for Boyi to release new model after the poster is released. With huge thanks to my bud Yul, click to supersize.

That it doesn’t, FAIL! That and plum ak74s are not everyone’s thing (more people would take a wood or black one over a plum i mean)

to be fair to them plum finishes can vary and can look pretty weird when photographed would really need to see it, judging by number of flolks trying to stain black furniture plum its not that unwanted

Never seen a 91 tula AK74 though..

Let's take this as what it is:

The only AKS-74M on the market.

Congrats the Kalash for at least trying to introduce something that innovates rather than DIRECTLY copies VFC.

I definitely look forward to purchasing one!

That's sorta like being ok with the guy down the street robbing you blind because every once in a while he brings you a pizza.

agreed doubt the wood handguard version will be long behind it then its just the solid stocks black furniture and alterations for the 103 and 105

be interesing to see the price too if it stays in line with the AKSU (maybe even price of the plastic handguard AKSU) will be ridiculously cheap into the bargain

Not exactly innovating. All it would take is slapping on a 74M front end which a longer inner barrel to one of their AKS-74Us.

Odds are all they did was clone the VFC AKS snd slapped a 74M style stock on the end of it

That’s not the point, its based on the first polymer AK74s which had plum coloured furniture.

I'm probably being retarded here but could you expand on the significance of that? Is it simply that they're replicating an older variant of the AK74, and that's the only significant factor in 'plum' or is there something else to it?

The AKS74 went through 3 main varients in it's life. The first varient was the one most people know which is the wooden furniture type.
The second varient was the polymer plum furniture
And the last varient was the black furniture version.

Almost all AKS74 varients went through other changes in-between the major furniture changes. Different front sights, different flash hiders and a whole host of other little modifications.

The good thing for anyone who likes a AKS 74 and is a "softer" is that Kalash are showing that they actually know their stuff when it comes to AK's. I didn't think anyone would release a Plum Ak. Not because I didn't think it would sell just because I'm surprised they actually knew about it.

Good work Kalash!

What’s the point of M4s when you can get better and more reliable weapons for a cheaper price?

Guys, this isn't an AK74M, it doesn't have a full stock.

It's not an AKS74M, because that doesn't exist...

It's an AKS74 with plum furniture. Nothing more, nothing less. Please don't keep spreading the mis-designated names around.

Marui has my money for their blowback system and mag followers. Sorry Kalash, you've been one-uped.

i said typed a similar reply but my internets cut out before it would post sad.gif but well said eitherway

edit: pinkfloyd, this is a clone they cant have been one-upped since theyre cloning VFC, and personally i would say VFC still arent one-upped, the TM blowback looks ###### poor and lets not forget the VFC's full steel construction and their sexy new bolt (when are they actually going to release that??)

The TM looks liek a fine gun, and I'm sure it'll shoot great. Lets put it this way, the only AK's I've shot that have been worth anything have been Marui based '47's. If Marui includes the lastest of their technology, IE their uber-hopups liek that found in the M14, their new found ability to manufacture metal recievers and their new magazine followers like in the type 89, I don't see why you would want a clone other than for the price issue. Personally, I'd rather pay the premium for a TM '74 because I think the technology and care that's going into those is worth it. I've never been impressed by Dboys before, so it's not for me.

why would I buy DBoys and not TM:
- steel parts, not aluminium
- no screws (which TM overuses)
- compatibility of the mags with the stash of mags I already have (chaning all of them would cost me another clone AEG!)
- "plum" color (black vs plum is of course a matter of personal taste)
- price
