If they made a drop-in PGC GB for a 249 I would bear Escort's children. However, that will never happen, but I do like the idea of a cheap GBB...any kind of rifle...a lot.

My thoughts exactly. Well... maybe not ten.

I cannot wait to see this in action. I for see a affordable GBB rifle in my future with more options than: MP5, XM177 or M16A1 Carbine.

The price is not been announced yet. No one has got their hands on this to test this yet.

And SniperX can be a total asshat.

Lets not jump to conclusions until the kit is in hand and tested.

MonsterAirsoft in Japan made a gas/electric hybrid for a while. It used standard internals with a special piston and cylinder assembly.

Escort guns are ###### in stock form because they rely heavily on aging designs.

Imagine dropping one of these things into a custom tuned m4a1 body or anything else with a modern hopup design.

IF these gearboxes are durable i will seriously consider adapting all of my AEG's with a version two gearbox in them to use these things.

I love the idea behind the escort system, unfortunately the concept falls far short of the reality. These gearboxes MAY change that.

Although with all the talk of what cold does to the v2 gearbox and what that brass is pounding i have to question, but i have faith

Remember most gearboxes are cast monkey metal. Let us hope Escort used better material like CNCed steel or aluminum.

You still have a $150ish investment on top of this to get a working air rig if you dont have it already, haha lucky me.


But god i just hope it works in g3's, i will never use a aeg mechbox again if it does.

True about the rigs.

To get an effective, all year rig it will cost at least $200 really. You need the Palmers rig ($150) and a HPA/Nitrogen Tank ($50+).
But once you do that you can use it on any classic, Escort, or this new GBB mechbox with out worrying about battery size, connectors, voltage, etc.

If Escort made a V3 (AK) version of it I'd be all over it!
I could live with an external air rig in my backpack for a gas blowback AK methinks. Escort has already released a GBB external air/CO2 powered AKS-74M but there's no way I'd ever pick one up because, well, they're $2,000!
But if Escort can make drop in conversion external air powered GBB mechboxes for a reasonable price ($300 or less) than I'd definately give it a go I think.

So, I guess the old excuse that the escort system will destroy aeg bodies was a lie to get people to buy thier exclusive guns, or they are simply in so much financial trouble that they dont care anymore, which also seems likely due to a conversation ive had with him earlier today.
