Tanio Kobayashi's website is updated with pictures of 8mm twist barrels, which use rifling, which makes them similar to rifled barrels, found on real pistols, revolvers and rifles. 6mm versions are available for some time now, and their efficiency is a hot topic among enthusiasts. 8mm versions for Marushin M1 and M1 Tanker will be available for 7,875 Yen (48.47 EUR). Regardless of your position on efficiency of twist barrels, they are here.

It's only a "hot topic" because everyone who has ever used one has found it to be utterly craptastical.

This is not exciting in the least.

Got to agree, but since there are so few 8mm tight bores in the first place, these might turn out to be interesting.

*sigh* And here you are again. I've used one, it worked amazingly well for me, but then I used it at the recommended power level with a decent hopup, your results may vary if you're doing it wrong. Stop trolling.

I've understood some people haven't noticed much difference over the original ones, but some people have noticed an improvement in accuracy with the Twist barrels.

Surely with an LD-2, anything would be an improvement.

Surely those barrels are much too short for a rifle - Are they doing them for pistols?

I'd be interested in one for my Automag...

Cheers.

Both pistols and rifles, apparently. The ones in the picture look like 1911 length, I'm pretty sure the 6mm version pictured is what I once owned. I personally think it worked wonderfully, in a WE no less.

Your "facts" are always amusing. You should stop posting your personal opinions as generally accepted facts. It doesn't do you any good.

I like the twist barrels, and I find that they work quite well in 300 fps guns. I guess I'm not included in the group "everyone".... That sucks I guess..

Gonna have to go with Kristoffer with this one, having put in numerous twist barrels in peoples guns and tested them, they work amazingly. Now I've just gotta get a 8mm gun and stick one in.

I also use a TK twist barrel in my uber KSC Glock 19. I find it to be quite a nice improvement over the stock barrel. It's the only Glock I retained the use of my hop-up with because I did indeed find that it improves accuracy and still has the distance advatage of hop-up.

I tested one once, and just found it to be another tight bore with a little less fps jump. My PDI 6.01s don't out shoot them (in terms of accuracy) much, if at all, but they are cheaper and will probably clock 15-20fps higher. I am cautiously interested in one for my P210 which shoots like ###### to begin with so it can't get worse.

I've used them (TK hop Twists) in everything from a AUG to a 4.3 capa and found them to be great in the recommended velocity, and its been reported and I concur that in CQB the Pistols equipt with them have a bit more bite to them although the velocity gain is minimal at best. Heck I still have one in my P226, and TM G17.
