There's been so many guns announced today, that this just seems insignificant. As much as I love the AKM, I just can't "feel it."

O rly?   I suppose so.  Actually, I think news of a cheap AKM is pretty big... at least for me.  Although I'd like a Unicorn or Dboy AKM more.

Gunner's link is broken for me right now... right after I posted this.

The picture isn't working either. Anywho, I would die for a DBOYs AKM! If someone made a wood kit to go along with it, I would have to change my religion to Kalashnikovism!
EDIT: The link works now. I lol'd at the "the best Airsoft AK manufacturer CYMA!!"

So is the Cyma a better gun to buy than the Kalash/DBoys?  I've wanted an AK for a while but have put off until a decent '74 full metal and wood clone came out.  Sorry to thread Jack BTW, I know i'm a bit off topic, but does Cyma make good AK's?  Like... are lemon rates decent?  Or should I go for a Dboys '74?

Woot CYMA is no longer technically cloning, may have to get me one of these (and replace it with some decent wood)  smile.gif

internaly the cyma is definitely better, but in the end, what will cost more: upgrading Dboys internals to cyma specs? or upgrading cyma externals to steel?

i'd go for Dboys and just work on the gearbox, but if externals dont matter as much to you and you want something pre upgraded out of the box without having to tinker or anything go for the cyma.

Very true. CYMA has really stepped up to the plate. To describe their M14 in word, wow. However, I can't seem to be able to forget the days of the 028.  biggrin.gif

I'm sorry, I'm a little out of it tonight. The 74 shoots the smaller round, correct?

If I have my facts straight..

AKM: 7.62 X 39MM
AK74: 5.45 X 39 MM.

-The AKM is just a redesigned AK47 into stamped steel and a few other extras.

Oh no, the cat's out of the bag now, the national security of every country in the Western world has been compromised because we all now know exactly what super secret armour carrier is used by a civilian shooting instructor who works for a company which founded itself as an alternative to paracord and duct tape.

mrk, watch your back dude, Chris Costa's beard is going to come and get you, I imagine in a similar way that Chuck Norris' might, and when it's done with you, Matt Johnson is going to make you a 750D Cordura bodybag (it's innovatively better than 500D and 1000D, naturally), in a khaki colour that's not quite green, not quite tan, not quite khaki. With grey trim, of course.

The angle of the back of the receiver is correct but too long, and there's a little gap between the sight block and receiver front. I'm starting to think this is going to go together a little like the Guarder kit.
