Heck, it is the cheapest metal HK416 on the market.

It has HK trademarks too.

Never heard of SRC, are they any good? That seems to be a mightily reasonable price for a good HK 416.

dang $307 before shipping?

I feel I'd rather wait around for those summer sales in the U.S. for a VFC one instead. I mean I know its the cheapest on the market but until somebody reviews it Im not sure if I'd rather save a little bit of money for questionable quality unless somebody can do a VFC to SRC comparison

Ask far as the SRC guns I have seen, they are ######! Echo 1 is better!

SRC's have decent internals at best. I'd rate them like an older Echo-1/JG without all the kinks worked out yet. My rating system:

~Perfection
~Uber
~Ridiculous
~Crazy
~Excellent
~Good
~**Decent**
~Meh
~Ooh.... bad...
~you've got to be kidding me sad.gif
~Take it back to the store, this thing sucks donkey w*ngs
~You make baby Jesus cry mad.gif

On SRC V2 gearboxes, I've found that the most common problem is either casing problems with the gears and thus the fitting is poor, or a poor shimjob causing the gearbox to bind and lock.

SRC guns don't bring anything to the table that CA's or even JG's don't. They're just average in every respect. Charging 307 bucks for this one is crazy talk unless SRC has REALLY improved their gearboxes.

I hope they sell the metal bodies separately too. It's so hard to find an affordable and accurate HK416 metal body.

From my experience their G36 is kick ass. Beats the CA internally, and is up to par and even better in some aspects than the CA. So really they're quite good. I expect no less from their Hk416, not to mention the fact that the VFC is a lot more expensive.

Oh my GOD no. the CA is rock solid, I'd just want the duel optic carry rail for my CA. I sold the SRC's for quite a while and while I never had any major issues they where, as Floyd pointed out, only decient inside. mediocer cast gearboxes, iffy steel gears, rather brittle plastic bits. Just like any other clone.

See the SRC isn't better than the CA, of course not. I actually replaced the handguard with my brothers old CA G36s(Which failed in about a month). Though There's a few features of the gun that make it better than the CA externally. Though CAs internally aren't very good. The SRCs on the other hand are not bad, and with a little work preform perfectly.

Hell who knows, maybe my brother got a lemon CA, I don't know, but from my experience they aren't that good internally.

Airsoftnews has a new thing up about this. It appears that the SRC HK416 wont have full HK trades. It looks good besides the "SR" trademarks. Link

Mike from Team SD (North American distributor) has news about SRC HK416, which is currently one of the hottest announced replicas:

TSD would like to announce SRC’s HK416. Series AEG’s will be available in February 2008, 3 models available and more to come.

- 10inch barrel
- 14.5inch barrel
- 16inch barrel

Here are some new features:

- 8mm Ball Bearings
- Anodized Finish Receiver
- Metal Internals: Cylinder Head & Spring Guide
- Aluminum External/Internals: Tactical Rail System, Piston Head & Cylinder
- Steel External/Internals: Mag Catch, Bolt Catch, Charging Handle, & Gear Set
- Nylon Fiber Externals: Stock & Pistol Grip
- Includes: External Battery Box

Product ID: GE0516
Product ID: GE0517
Product ID: GE0518

Regards,

Mike Ho - Account Manager
Team SD

Atleast my VFC will still be the creme of the crop now.

EDIT: hosted a copy of the picture.

Its TSD, for American Distribution, For America, where the trademarks are illegal. Everywhere else, the SRC sells ones with HK marks, look at the one at gunsnguys, it has hk marks.

It looks like TSD pulled an Echo1. When I saw that SR logo I immediately thought of the Echo1 614.

Skimp $100 and get a SRC instead of a VFC? Some people must really be crazy.
