That's my guess too. Even then, wouldn't it be too powerful?
Hmm, just tested my bastardized TM/HFC normal length DE on 134a, fps is only around 250. I guess the TM DE only rears its ugly, crazy head on propane.

My gun was shooting over 320 fps on 134A, seems a little strange yours is so much lower.
Yeah, I wonder how they are going to lower FPS. KM does make a 10" tight bore.

I'd get one, modify a silencer onto it and then slap an M4 barrel into one. Tehn you just need a scope and you've got yourself a nice Pistol sniper.

You can buy a silencer adapter for them. I've got one somewhere, never got round to using it.

Mine was shooting 345 on 134a, and is now settled down to 335

Well I did butcher it - it is composed of parts from a TM, a HFC, and a Zeke metal kit. A very old project gun. Now I wish I just had a stock one.
So as I originally suspected, it seems that even a stock, standard-barreled TM DE shoots too hot for the Japanese law. What else could they have done to the poor gun to decrease fps output? And what about current DEs, have they been nerfed too?

This is certainly a draw if you are power hungry and want a hand canon.

Mine shot 9000fps on fart gas....
Unless the figures WAY over 300 fps were in some incredibly high ambient temp or with .005g BBs (remember, AGAIN, fps figures for gas guns mean nothing without a temperature and BB weight), I just don't believe them.
Tanaka, however, have tamed their fearsome revolvers with some mods to the gas system. I'm sure it's not beyond TM's wit to do the same thing...
MY Desert Eagle shot a top figure of 317fps on 134a at 25C and that's my 10" SIIS one. The TM Hardkick only did 324 tops on PROPANE at 21C... both with .2g BBs.

IIRC, the guys at Tanaka installed a low flow nozzle on their bolt actions, as well as their revolvers.
Didn't the guys at TM do something similar with the G17? Something with a slightly restricted loading nozzle?
