There's a video on the front page of airsoft-news of a new 416 varient by a company called Top Tech. Features seem to include a blowback bolt and a battery compartment in the foregrip. Nothing on the gearbox or materials yet, but the placement of the battery alone makes it very interesting for me.

Their outer barrel is thinner than VFCs. Thats how they get the battery in the foregrip. And it has grooves cut out for the battery.

Looks good, blowback seems to be the wave of the future now.

Im a G&G dealer and this video was sent to me from them. I thought it was really interesting at the time but unfortunately G&G didnt provide any information other than a link to the video.

Im wondering if this is a product being released by them or if they helped design it and are allowing other people to purchase the technology to place in their guns.

Honestly guys, custom bolt mods have been around for ages to almost every system. There's a guy on youtube that has modified countless guns to cycle their bolts based off of piston travel alone. Its a shoddy system, provides no recoil and looks pretty lame as far as im concerned. I mean really, who cares about a 1mm thick piece of metal reciprocating over your gearbox?

After my experiences with the G&G L85 I'd disable it as soon as it arrived anyway. As far as I'm concerned its the battery compartment that I'm interested in. The major negative factor with the VFC for me is the need for a PEQ, or the need for a modstock. Mind you all that is purely academic if it turns out its made of plastic or has a terrible gearbox.

Blowback looked pretty poor, liked the way the ejection port covers pops open though. Would be cool if it hsd a working bolt cath aswell. But the killer feature is the battery forend.

Anyone god any idea on the rice and is it metal?

While the blowback feature looks nice....once again I'm thinking about whats the point? Surely its just another mech part that will be prone to failure? I could understand if something was being ejected from the rifle, but in the cases I've seen it just looks like a fancy clapping mech...great! At least on a pistol it actually adds something to the pistols feel of "real steel"...but in an AEG, I personally feel it kinda fails....

What I think would be nice, is if the companies could work on giving a stronger report when fired.....now that would be worth spending on!

Unfourtunately yes. I might just have to buy a 417 when if one comes out just to keep ahead of the game.

Can't wait for details on this! I've been really looking for a 416. I need something tacticool but I'm sick of plain old M4s. My favorite part it I wont need one of those big ol' chunky PEQs!

what are you guys watching this video on Spectrums??? I can clearly see an external power supply! The battery is not in the forgrip but the PEQ mounted on the left hand side of the gun.

Um, the video starts with the removal of the foregrip in order to remove the batteries. Just to confirm this, the words "Battery Setup (Don't need External Battery Box)" appear on screen.

my guess is they're watching the one linked to at top of the thread that shows nunchuck falling out the front end when the front end is drawn off the rifle, the one that has Battery Setup (dont need External Battery Box) written along the bottom of it while its playing

edit damn pablo beat me to it but then again mine does have a nice screen grab
