Not such a bad thing, i can't find anything wrong with the guarder. The cross hairs are different on the clone too though.
$90 + shipping? Give me another guarder anyday

It's not that the Guarder is incredibly bad, it's just the CA is incredibly better.

How? Last i heard it was just based on a different model and had a bit of a fuzzy red dot on it.

It's an illuminated red or green crosshair at 3x, no fuzzy dots, has good eye relief and has more range of adjustment.

I do agree as well with previous posters about the price. 90.00 + shipping = Guarder Elcan price.

On the otherhand the Guarder doesn't have any batteries to run out, decent incredibly clear crosshairs at 4x, excellent eye relief (claim is 7", i've found it to be around that mark) and doesn't need any adjustment apart from your standard X/Y dials on it.
Funnily enough, i've heard more bad comments than good comments...the only good comment i've seen from you
EDIT : I've also heard the CA elcan has pig ulgy trades on it too, the guarder doesn't

Wierd - the one I tried was perfectly fine.
In any case, DragonRed blatantly overcharge their stuff. Wait a week or two, it'll hit Gunner and RSOV and EbayBanned and that'll be muuuuuuuch cheaper.

Erm, when the battery runs out on the CA Elcan the crosshairs cease to be illuminated.
Then it's just like the Guarder one.
I'm well-chuffed with my CA Elcan. It was expensive, though, and I did dremel the CA trademarks off the rubber sleeve within about 15 minutes of taking it out of the box.

I was aware of that
You are aware the elcan weighs as much as a small plane aren't you?

This was the reason my cousin went for the Guarder one.. Since the Dutch Army doesn't use the huge knob one

This doesn't look like Guarder repro at all. It looks more like Samurai Elcan, which so far I heard only great thing about them. The reticle shape and magnification is identical to Samurai one to boot.(and externaly looks pretty similar if not identical.)
