Damn, they copied the crappy Guarder ELKAN instead of the nicer CA ELCAN.

Not such a bad thing, i can't find anything wrong with the guarder. The cross hairs are different on the clone too though.

$90 + shipping? Give me another guarder anyday

It's not that the Guarder is incredibly bad, it's just the CA is incredibly better.

How? Last i heard it was just based on a different model and had a bit of a fuzzy red dot on it.

It's an illuminated red or green crosshair at 3x, no fuzzy dots, has good eye relief and has more range of adjustment.

Most of the comments I've read about the CA are negative, in that people complain about not being able to zero it correctly. I was going to buy one, but decided against it as pretty much every post raised this issue :/

Interesting. The crosshairs in this one are more like the Samuri Elcan than the Guarder. I like my Guarder Elcan on my G36K, but would rather have spent the 220 for the Samuri one due to the different crosshairs and more adjustability. You get what you pay for regarding scopes, so you might want to buy quality and only cry once.

I do agree as well with previous posters about the price. 90.00 + shipping = Guarder Elcan price.

On the otherhand the Guarder doesn't have any batteries to run out, decent incredibly clear crosshairs at 4x, excellent eye relief (claim is 7", i've found it to be around that mark) and doesn't need any adjustment apart from your standard X/Y dials on it.

Funnily enough, i've heard more bad comments than good comments...the only good comment i've seen from you laugh.gif

EDIT : I've also heard the CA elcan has pig ulgy trades on it too, the guarder doesn't tongue.gif

Wierd - the one I tried was perfectly fine.

In any case, DragonRed blatantly overcharge their stuff. Wait a week or two, it'll hit Gunner and RSOV and EbayBanned and that'll be muuuuuuuch cheaper.

Erm, when the battery runs out on the CA Elcan the crosshairs cease to be illuminated.
Then it's just like the Guarder one.

I'm well-chuffed with my CA Elcan. It was expensive, though, and I did dremel the CA trademarks off the rubber sleeve within about 15 minutes of taking it out of the box. wink.gif

If you're making a commercial post (advertising something you sell for profit) and you haven't asked for, and received, a "Commercial User" tag you should expect your posts to be deleted and to receive warning points.

As soon as this is available at a proper retailer I'll buy it. $20 shipping on a scope? No thanks.

Doesn't the CA one also have the HUGE knob on the side?
This was the reason my cousin went for the Guarder one.. Since the Dutch Army doesn't use the huge knob one tongue.gif

indeed. the CA one was just incredibly ugly. my guarder one has been faultless since day one, and as rob said, the last comment i read about a CA elcan, earlier in the week, was not a good one. i got the guarder because at the time it was guarder or samurai, and i wasnt chelling out for the samurai. luckily, the guarder one is mint. and tbh, its still the one i would buy.

Id say wait for other retailers stock them as DragonRed is rip off.(and worse, they lie)

This doesn't look like Guarder repro at all. It looks more like Samurai Elcan, which so far I heard only great thing about them. The reticle shape and magnification is identical to Samurai one to boot.(and externaly looks pretty similar if not identical.)
