the weight difference isn't even very significant. it's only 100 grams lighter. what a waste

Yay. I'll pay an extra $700 for a barrel to use with my 555mm tb so I dont have to carry an extra 100g because my arms can't take the weight of the already very light VSR.

I want a skin-tone latex outer barrel, plz. With wrinkles and veins. And then I'd attach a pair of fuzzy dice on the front sling mount.

That looks nice. Be careful if moding this. Carbon fiber will splinter and when cutting for industry requires a water tank. My buddy learned this the hard way when he used to cut carbon arrows. He found a silver dollar sized crystal in his lungs from the carbon fiber. But if used with out heavy mods should fit it function safely.

It's like asking why buying a SUV when there are station wagons who have just as much room.

the SUV would be the carbon barrel then.
