or just put in an "exotic" or "other" series  link in there? i personaly liek hte layout alot, good luck with it, i for one will enjoy it :)

yeah, they are all better off under 1 listing as there's basically only 1 gun per manufacturer and information is pretty limited.

there should also be an aeg tab, with an indepth reply as to why aegs suck :P

Heh i was thinking of AEG section but i wanted to stay away from AEG even the PSG1.

but i suppose some information should be included at least on it, if want to cover as much as possible.

ill put an exotic tab in there, but unless any one has one they can write about there wont be much point.

the site will be relying on the knowledge of people with those rifles to write adiquate(sp) reviews, and guides.

so as a small call out if you fancy having a article up please write one, pictures or videos are a must as i want details to be clear especially on upgrades.

Looks great BAUER, best of luck with it. Hope to contribute something about the models I own. I guess you need to be super selective with AEG models you include to avoid it not being a specialist site and drowned in AEG chatter  . Guess the TM PSG1 and M14 should be included.

I have managed to watch and upload half of our footage so far and made this 5 minute PREVIEW yesterday evening. Click the link :

The full length film is looking very promising from the footage I have viewed so far :D .

Lastly, my group all ordered a TW rifle each before we set off on the 6 dayer..... should be here soon (thanks to the HUNTER who is sorting out the shipment BTW.) :P

Looks like we will be going to the next level for next years film ;)

Enjoy :)

I agree, but I think the point is worth making that aegs and NBB's like the Mk1 arent adequite snipers for certain reasons.

One of the biggest pitfalls of being a newbie, who wants to snipe, besides sucking, is they tend to pick up the cheapest rifle that a retailer says is a "leet sniper", and its completely worthless.

brings me back to my MK1 days, amazingly inaccurate AND dangerously powerful, the best of both worlds! good times... lol

I have a writeup or two here that i was going to put into a guide of sorts I could send ya.

Bushman, That 30 hour game of hunting looks very intense! Sounds like a blast. Thanks for giving us another great after game report.

well my write up could have been very indepth but I don't want to spoil the film so left it generalised. Here are pictures taken from the start line, after we had to cam up ourselves. You don't really know how effective it is as you don't have a mirror :P :

2006_09106dayenduroevent0021.jpg

you can see his sleeping bag but he stashed that in the first 10 minutes (offten standard practice).

this last one is me ;)

2006_09106dayenduroevent0009.jpg

I wore goretex overtrousers for the full 30 hours (even in my sleeping bag i wore all my clothes and jacket.) I did take off my boots mind. I used a Patt58 goose down sleeping bag that was pretty hefty but its thick base ment I needed no roll matt or thermarest, just my good old zipped bivibag. I stashed it in the first 10 minutes of the game. Another Hunter used a vintage German "sniper Sleeping Bag" the one with arms and the lower unzips allowing your legs to come out and you to move position.

I compiled 4 films onto one page allowing you to view 2 at once and pick which soundtrack you like :P .... wow technology is great : CLICK HERE

Good Hunting :spidy:

Hey evreyone, I'm looking to get into airsoft more seriosly, and as a DM rather than a sniper. Anyone know any good DM guns? I was looking for something like what the guy in the infamous "Blackwater mercenry sniper" vid is using. It looks like a M16A4 with SIR and a Leoupold scope... Anyone know where i could get something like that? or a DM rifle in general?

I suggest you go for a TM M14 due to the more stable hop up over other regular AEG designs. Look at REDWOLF or somewhere or search using the highlighted button at the top of the page.

I suggest your hardest task will be learning to not fire much as you will have the capabilities of firing a high ROF. Good Luck.

Good Hunting ;)

Well, I spent all day morning in my shop today on the rifled barrel project. As stated in an earlier post I used a barrel taken off of a .243 Remington rifle.

Picture 1 shows the barrel blank after I used a chop saw to hack off the original chamber end.

barrel1.jpg

Picture 2 shows the barrel after I turned it in my lathe. I left the center full diameter so that I would not have to use barrel spacers and make it very rigid.

barrel2.jpg

Picture 3 shows the Chamber end. I turned it down to .337in for a length of 2.975in to allow for the hop up unit.

barrel3.jpg

Picture 4 shows the muzzle end. Again I turned it down to .337in for a length of 1in to allow it to slip fit into the outer barrel end. I also crowned it 11 degrees concentric to the bore.

barrel4.jpg

Next I tackled the piston. I turned a new piston out of aluminum and used the original buffer pad from the VSR piston. I used pretty much the same dimensions from the VSR, except I added porting to the first o-ring and added a second o-ring for good measure.

I also then turned a new nozzle out of Stainless Steel. I made the threads tighter than the original and added 2 o-rings to the threads. I checked the length of throw between the bb abd the hop-up and discovered that on my gun it was just right, so I made my nozzle to the same length. I did add a small o-ring to the tip of the nozzle. It settles right into the bucking and should help seal it from leaking.

Lastly I used x-tra thick teflon tape(pink color) around the threads before I screwed it back into the cylinder.

Lastly a picture of the finished gun, nothing special on the outside, but hopefully the insides will pan out to be top notch.

I will chrono this tomorrow and check accuracy with .28 bb's. I also want to try it with .30 and .36 bb's.

I will post more data and target pics when I have them.

Just watched your preview fella...impressed as ever..and again nice soundtrack!

30hrs...sounds like your big game was much closer to expectation than mine!

Really like the look of those woodworking / logging goggles - will have to get a pair too.

Finally managed to get all my rifles chrono's too - stock Gspec running with all results from 299-301 fps. My M4s hybrid rifle - with some trepidation when approaching the chrono to see if it was legal or not, gave an 8 shot spread with results from 326-328. Its performace was faultless - just goes to show that choosing the right parts gives results, no need to blow £100's. I shall be investing in a box of VN 20rd realcaps for it and probably a new - v-shape hop spacer...very good results on semi by all accounts!

And a hello to all in the snipers perch.

Regards

Chronoed the new barrel today. With .20 bbs it shoots 420fps with about 7fps variation. I didn't chrono it with anything heavier.

Outside, shooting it with .28's it was possible to put the bb on a man size target consistently at 200 measured feet.

We noticed that the VSR shot straighter than it ever has before. The hop up strictly controlled the elevation of the shot. I can't wait to try some heavier bb's and maybe a bit more speed.

keep me updated, I have a feeling my crimebuster is going to get a .22 barrel ;)

Hi again,

I tried out the suit at Alpha yesterday, it was pretty good but I'm definitely going to modify it now. I really enjoyed the experience of sniping for the first time, and although I didn't get any confirmed kills while sniping, I did manage to medic my entire team back in after a lengthy creep around an enemy position.

I used my mate's G-spec, and as much as I love it, it just isn't powerful enough stock. The limit at my site is 370fps for bolt-actions, without prior training. Just wondering, which Laylax PSS-10 spring would I need to take it up to 370fps or just under? What other upgrades would I need at this power level to keep the gun working?

Thanks guys :)

PSS10 120SP Spring should bring you about that. you 'might' need to clip it slightly.

PSS10 Spring guide

PSS10 Piston Sear

PSS10 Trigger Sear - not needed just yet but it will wear down after so long

PSS10 Spring guide Stopper - not needed just yet but it will wear down after so long

PSS10 Piston - not needed just yet but it will wear down after so long

hope that helps.

i would also recomend a tighter barrel.

Played at a non-local field over in albany over the weekend, paintball field. Typical paintball opponents too, I was absolutly astounded when one specific player didnt call his hit, from a rifle shooting ~550/.25's at about 100ft, until I shot him in the head, on three seperate occasions.

the guy was in really bad shape by the end of the 2nd rotation, I allmost felt bad.
