Click here to link to Maplin's website. Not bad eh?

I don't work for 'em by the way, just thought you might want to know!

I got 2 of these from Maplin for £30, and sold one to Chris P because I only need one.

They're great little radios, nice and solid, and a good tactical black colour (mostly) too wink.gif

Are these radios compatible with the Firefox throat mics? blink.gif

ie what mic jacks do these have? 2.5mm? - that's what is compatible with the firefox mics.

if they don't does anyone know how to make them compatible? ie what pin converters do i need to purchase? blink.gif

thanks for any info.

Yup, Havoc sold me. Very solid reliable radio. Has those two sockets at the top for ear pieces, best to pick one up from maplins at the same time.

so do they have two jacks or just the one? does anyone have specific widths?

Ubar says it has a 2.5mm but Chris P makes it sound like there are two...

are there two which are different/same sizes or what?

thanks.

That would make it a standard set-up.

The cheapies have a stereo 2.5mm.

You can get a frighteningly-priced adapter from two to one, but not - AFAIK - the other way around. And if you expect Maplin to have the parts to make your own... "be lucky" dry.gif

just s quick note, firefox do an adapter from the two jacks to the one that the heaset uses, works a treat, only problem is you get quite a few wires out of the top of your radio. But i keep my radio in my inside tac vest pocket so i dont notice

Plan to go foursies with my mates on these. My local store was out, but the rather nerdy assistant offered to get some in if I wanted smile.gif

Ah, thank heavens for nerdy assistants. I'm splitting a pack with my mate Tiptoe (spends his time on other forums, poor deluded soul that he is).

my ixradio throat mic works fine with it, but u have to use the PTT button and not the radio transmit button.
