there was a mod to make an m4 take ak mags with adifferent magwell. this eliminates that need. dont knock it untill you try it.
when quoting posts that contain a picture please remove the smegging image tags.

ive been airsofting for more than 14 years. ive played at most of the sites in england at least once.
do i REALY have to prove that im an airsofter in any other way?

G36 (with adapter), L85, FAMAS, Sig 556, anything else that can take M4 mags.

Hurricane also made the SR47 conversion kit. One of my original favorite rifles. 
This M4-AK hybrid mag is pretty neat but I'd rather go with a flared mag.

That wasnt a mod it was a conversion kit called the SR47 http://www.airsoftextreme.com/store/index....products_id=672
the SR47 is an actual gun, a AR style that chambers a 7.62 round and uses AK mags.
I guess this is a poorman's conversion though its ugly and dumb

"7.62" KAC SR-47 = awesome, the dogs danglies, win, etc.... ; basicly this makes sense, battlefeld pick ups and all...
"5.56" sized AK lookalike mag = *points and laughs* ; it's got that whole "i want to, but i can't" air to it imho, it's just pointless and more ackward to go prone with...
edit: it's kinda like slapping in a 20 round style magazine in your M4, and calling it an SR-25 lol

Looks awesome. It's like the ergonomics of the Armalite with the hi-capacity of the AK mag & that impression of extra power because it represents the 7.62mm

There are ARs chambered in 7.62x39mm that don't take AK mags, you could pretend you've got one of those. Though I don't think the mags looked quite like that.

As an AK fan, I can assure you that this has the awkward shape that's such a pain in mag pouches combined with the need to be used in a drab-ass Armalite. Fail.

And just to be clear: there is no real reason for M4/M16/STANAG/etc mags not to be banana-shaped. They would in fact probably feed better. They also look better than real AR-15 40-rounders

The H&K high reliability mag and the Magpul PMAG are both examples of AR-15 mages shaped like bananas. The 5.56/.223 cartridge has a much less extreme taper than the 7.62 M43. It has even less of a taper than the 5.45 M74.
