Interesting - I sure hope these don't end up being vaporware. I probably wouldn't shell out a grand for one, but it's nice to see some more exotic sniper rifles being produced.

Edit: On second thought - DAMN those look good!

Omg now we can all be Candyman!

--------------------

Retrosexual: This word wouldn't exist if "metro" didn't happen to rhyme with "retro." It's supposed to mean the opposite of a "metrosexual," which makes it another superfluous word since we already have a word for the opposite of a metrosexual called "straight."

As Elrey said, it would be brilliant if these actually appear. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Edit: Screw high-end companies, the chinese are copying Candyman. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

HOLY CR@P! That AMP is in use by Germany's GSG. That Cheytac looks nice, an alternative to the now hard to find Barrett M82A1 .50 cal. Not useful to lug around the field, just for a collection.

I'll probably buy the DSR-1 (so long as others report it doesn't suck). That said... the pricing is starting to go into the Right Hook Fabrication Sniper Rifle price range. And chances are that would out shoot this DSR-1 by a lot... sigh... decisions decisions decisions...

well if the dsr-1 winds up having a similar enough system to the tanakas then maybe you could get that and have the righthook guys do some work on it.

This.
This is just sick.

I'm buying that DSR, no fruity doubt about it.

And I'll buy the CheyTac even more when it's released.

Man.
I just got horny.

Maybe the best externals I have seen on an AS gun!! have you noticed the caliber markings on the muzzle device: "Lapua...."? Sick!

I have a spanish weapons magazine ("ARMAS") and the DSR-1 is on the cover and has almost 10 pages of an article on it (it has been purchased by the GEOs). The accuracy of this replica is stunning, the different finishes of the various parts are amazing.

Here are a lot of pictures of DSR-1s in various calibers and barreel configs:

http://www.gun-world.net/german/r/dsr1/dsr1.htm

In case you are wondering: "WTF!? two mags!?", the gun is a bullpup, the front magazine is put there for quicker mag change.

The DSR-1 will be released on mid August, suggested retail price will be around $1000 usd. Every package comes with a M3 style 3.5-10 x 50mm scope, a scope mount, and 2 Magazine!!

From the description in the link.

Looks stunning, lets hope it doesn't turn into another Maruzen DSR1 fiasco...

Oh and a pic of the RS in use to wet the appetite:

The gun appears to take the same magazines as the star aw338, either that or they are DIRECT clones.
Ive heard many complaints about the 338 performance but mine is pretty good, this project may be why star is finally releasing new gas mags, they had to do a new run for these guys.
