smart looking piece.

what's the functional purpose of the chunky bits on top?
the cracked bells and washed-out horns blow into my face with scorn, but its not that way, I wasnt born to lose you...

In the real Steel, the rounds would be belt fed through the top of the gun (the chunky bits) and ejected from the magwell methinks.

I might have gotten it the wrong way round though...

The modern LMG sure, but it looks pretty close to the old Nam' era Stoner Carbine

I hope you were talking about the Shrike, not that lame Smokey's kit.

Both!

Nah, why not? I always loved the concept of belt fed M16s, and with the Shrike, and the more recent belt fed M16...whose name escapes me at the moment, it opens the door for even more.

In other words, the belt fed M16s out right now as pretty much custom jobs, so when it comes to realism, this kit really isn't far off smile.gif

Hope that makes sense.

EDIT: But yeah, I'd lower that feed port if I did end up buying it..looks bad.

To each their own, but I'm disappointed in that release.

It is a very loose approximation of the Stoner 63A Commando, designated Mk23Mod0.  The kit looks like a M4/M16 with some pieces slapped on.  Stock isn't right and receiver isn't close to being right.

To me, it looks like they couldn't decide if they were trying to replicate the Stoner63 or Aries Shrike, so they kind of melded those with a M4, and you get that.....it isn't a Stoner LMG either.

Stoner LMG:

Replica is supposed to be of this:  http://home.houston.rr.com/stoner63a/commando.htm

Yeah, the real one looks like a cross between a FAL and a BAR.

But like I said above, they can call it whatever they want, but that's not what I'll be labelling it. It'll just be another custom belt fed conversion smile.gif

It's like buying an M16 that's called a FAMAS, call it what you want, but it's an M16.
