I may not have a wizbang tactical job yet but I do get to play with a bunch of cool toys and work on a giant f-ing plane so I might know a thing or two about a thing or two. Oh yeah, my job is also combining with Survival Equipment so I will be a real "Rigger" soon. That means gear making shall commence.

I can't buy tan Oakleys. Since they don't ship to Norway. I guess a pair of clones will do.. Also 30$ including shipping is nice, at least when you live on the other side of the world.

in the UK the cheapest you can get them for is £35 before postage, which is just over 50 usd for those cousins who are too lazy to work it out. America is a big country but not everyone lives there you know.

Buying replica gloves has to be the most pointless waste of money ever. If I'm going to buying something to protect my hands, why wouldn't you just buy the real ones that are only a little more $ and way better quality.

Oh no, the cat's out of the bag now, the national security of every country in the Western world has been compromised because we all now know exactly what super secret armour carrier is used by a civilian shooting instructor who works for a company which founded itself as an alternative to paracord and duct tape.

mrk, watch your back dude, Chris Costa's beard is going to come and get you, I imagine in a similar way that Chuck Norris' might, and when it's done with you, Matt Johnson is going to make you a 750D Cordura bodybag (it's innovatively better than 500D and 1000D, naturally), in a khaki colour that's not quite green, not quite tan, not quite khaki. With grey trim, of course.

How do you know that the real ones are "way better quality"? Have you seen or handled these particular ones? Maybe they're only a bit better? Who knows?

For those of us who can only get the real ones at pretty much double the price of the replicas the difference in cost may well justify the difference in quality. Until someone gets a pair and can do a comparison there's really little point in bashing the replica on value for money with respect to quality.

The entire concept of buying replica gloves is mind boggling. Why not get nomex flying gloves, or mechanix or any*fruitcage*ingthing you want if it is a matter of money. Oakley gloves aren't high speed nor do they look especially cool so what is the point? I am issued them as life support, a job that only services would consider cool.

Oakley gloves can be had straight from oakley as that is where I got them for 40 bucks.

Try cycle surgery (snow & rock) '09's are £50, but last years are on sale in a few stores. & they have the best range of Dakine gloves ever. Defenders for £30, much better than Oakley's.

This is a great point.

Remember, products are made to a specification. If the spec is poop, the product will be too. But if the spec is good,,,,,,,,,,,,,

& the spec may actually be higher grade than the original product, having potentialy learned from any shortcomings found in the original. huh.gif

Not all 'clones' are poop.
