While this isn't new news - it's been out for a wee while - there hasn't been much talk about this replica so far (there has been some discussion of the CYMA & G&G AK105s on Arnies)...

(IMG:http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3332/3506328203_42b61d1225.jpg)

What brings me to highlight this as news is two things; first of all, Land Warrior received the first batch of these in the UK very recently - and then, secondly, it sold out of them nearly straight away!

...I was lucky enough to buy the very last one they had!

I had my eye on the CYMA versions (one skeleton stock and one with the folding solid stock) for a while, as a couple of UK retailers had them in stock. But there just something not right with this replica - and when I heard Kalash were to release a full steel version I made up my mind to wait and buy that instead.

Well, it arrived on Tuesday (thank you Land Warrior for the fast service and the free downgrade!)

(IMG:http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3542/3507300886_cf375321e2.jpg)

Now I haven't had time to do a full review yet - I am waiting 'til I have a chance to skirmish the Kalash on Sunday before I do - but I have taken some snaps and made a very quick 'teaser' video review.

I hope that if you were in two minds like I was these photos and video will help you make up your mind.

Milgeek.co.uk's 60 Second Video Review of the Kalash AK105: MilgeekTV - Kalash AK105 Review

(This is a bit rough & ready, sorry!) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Just for comparison, here's my Kalash AK74M above my new AK105:

(IMG:http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3647/3505526360_74392b5b96.jpg)

It would be great to discuss some of the issues I raised in my review, did anyone else - for example - suffer from spots of rust?

Cheers, Milgeek

Clone ranger, are you going to open it? I really would like to know if its got metal bushings and metal spring guide (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Other than that and after watching your Kobra review, Im eager to read/view the review of this replica (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

im still torn between this and cyma version... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Er...QFT.

Oh yes. Received an RK-03S recently and the front sight was rusty. I like it, though - it adds character and attests to the iron content (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

The bit that secures the lower handguard is skewed exactly like the picture on RSOV, too. Glad to see yours is nice and straight, though.

Nice find. Now if they would only release their RK-15 (AK AIMS).

LOL - I guess that's a problem that's inherent to this hobby - after all , there are only a finite number of assault rifle designs. Having said that the AK105 is a good compliment to the AK74 family... It's a sort of 'M4' to the AK74M's 'M16', if you know what I mean.

But that's it now for the Ak74/'100' series AKs.... I would really like to see either a 'cheapsoft' RPK, a Saiga auto-shotgun or preferably a replica of the AN-94 Abakan.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

LOL - I'm amazed I managed to avoid the 'you can never have too many AKs!' (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Very nice indeed. I dont suppose its SYA where you're trying it out on Sunday is it? If so expect to be asked for a go (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

At least its better than another M4 variant. Even I'm getting sick of those and I own 8 AR-15 variants.

Hi - I guess yes and no! LOL

The main *news* this represents is the fact that this Kalash is now starting to become available here in the UK. I suppose because this release is a bit niche it hasn't had all that much news coverage, so for the Russian themed nuts out there (like myself) it's nice to know when new AEGs become available in the UK (or outside Hong Kong).

I guess it's a fine line - So apologies to you and anyone else who though this wasn't really news (I guess everyone isn't quite as sad as I am - I'm always very excited to hear when a new AEG becomes available in the UK!) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

LMAO ---- I guess, still, I hope you guys forgive me - I just get so excited about new stuff, even when the 'new' stuff isn't *quite* that new. And what's exciting 'news' to me maybe trivial to others. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Basically, I need to get out more!

I look forward to your review, I myself have been eyeing one of the AK105s after buying my AKS-74 recently and deciding it needed a friend.

My AKS-74 also came with a bit of rust on the rear sight, as well as a tiny bit on the inside of the receiver.
