(IMG:http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f283/sgtmuller/recon_challenge.jpg)

What: National Reconner Challenge
Where: TBA (West Coast, USA)
Who: Spokane Airsoft & Marine Corps Historical Assoc.
When: Sept. 5th & 6th, 2009
How Much: 50.00 Dollars - Recon Team (per person) / 25.00 Dollars -Hunter Killer Team (per person)

Preregister only for Recon Teams:
Paypal: wade@spokaneairsoft.com

What to expect:

You’re slowly crawling up to the ridge, gently moving branches and grass out of your way, you uncover your ‘nocs and spy down the hillside to the objective. There’s a stack of ammo crates with two enemy guards. You begin to sketch the location on your map and write down the description of uniforms and crate count when...you hear a twig snap.

KA-BOOM! Your buddy just tripped a 12ga shotgun blank rigged to a booby trap. Looking back down the hillside you see a hunter killer team heading your way. You’ve been blown.

But there’s still time to salvage some points. Can you call in the SALUTE correctly? Did you get the uniforms right? How about that count? All this is running through your head as you take your wounded man up an over the ridge just before the hunter killer teams spot you all.

Do more than imagine you're there. Get your squad together. Register for the National Reconners Challenge. Wear the uniform and gear that you think works best. Carry your food on your back. The event will commence Saturday morning, 5 September, and end Sunday afternoon.

That's just enough time to show the other guys who's boss. Get the rest of the intel here.

Summary:
This competition is designed to test people's intestinal fortitude, their team work and their recon skills in the bush. Only one team will walk away a winner. But everyone will walk away with pride and a sense of accomplishment.

You will navigate your recon team safely through hostile territory, avoiding contact with hunter killer teams, and other rival recon teams, while giving precise and accurate SALUTE reports of each objective..........in a timely manner. Expect to be on a two day mission in the bush. Everything you need to survive for two days will be on your back. The time is ticking, your being hunted, and you'll need every point awarded to you!

Six Recon Team Slots are available for this event.

If I can get a location for this op soon, I'd be more than happy to sign myself on as an H/K team member.

I have both a temperate and an arid loadout.

We will hold the event nearest the greatest amount of participants. CA, WA, and OR are all being considered. If the majority of registered teams are from a specific locale- we will attempt to hold the event nearby.

My advice is to register and ask for a closer AO. At least register at the www.Spokaneairsoft.com forum and post a request for a closer location. With AO requests from registered players we can get the area secured.

Please see the links above for more information.

If this is hosted around the Bay Area, me and my team will definitely be there. Along with a LOT more airsofters I'm sure.

The Bay Area has a lot of players - so does the Los Angeles area. A logical place for such an op would be somewhere between the two hot spots.

But the event staff is from Spokane, WA and the two teams currently signed up are in the Pacific Northwest.

The event organizers did say that they would try hosting it close to wherever has the most participants. I hope it's somewhere in Central CA.

I think it'd be ideal to hold it somewhere between NorCal and SoCal too so players from both areas can go over along with anyone in the central area. But how limited are spots exactly? 6 team slots of 6 people doesn't seem like very much at all. Unless that's just for Recon and there are a lot more hunter spots or something.
