I'd buy one for the fact that you could probably convert it to be used with other types of MGs.

if i wind up getting the M240G that echo is coming out with, i may have to pick this up, if the price is reasonable... it would also depend if i could get the pintle for the 249/240.

Damn right. I got a real M2 tripod, basically the same thing, for $200 at a gunshow.
