how can we stay in contact with your friend?

Hi,

I'd like to introduce myself as the new guy working on Vinh's Nbb setup.

I have been helping him on and off with design questions and etc in the past and he has recently asked me to continue his work.

The engine Is pretty simple. A merger of 2 processes controlled by a "central" valve. aka the trigger valve. One setting actuates one function and pulling the trigger actuates another function within the engine.

All of the major parts fit within the upper part of the gearbox and provisions have been made to allow the use of the stock bolt that applies to M16 or M4 stocks.

Materials and costs have yet to be determined.

I have been told not to go into too many details, so I will leave it as that.

I hope I can continue Vinh's work and produce system up to his expectations and the expectations of the Airsoft community.

Good Day,

Mr. Blue

Welcome Mr. Blue!

As I'm sure your know, our main concern for an engine of this type is consistent pressure, shot to shot.

Another consideration, and maybe the more difficult, is that different customers will have different pressure needs. Some will need a DMR to shoot under 450FPS. Other's will want an all-out semi-auto sniper to shoot 550FPS. The ability of this engine to accomodate a range of pressures while having good consistency at both extremes will make this a real winner.

MagnumBB,

My condolences as well. I know many of us had high hopes for your company and what your products could do for our game. We appreciate your commitment and investment in the community.

Something I haven't seen mentioned, what will be the fate of the precision BB project? Is it trudging on (hope!), or is there someone else who is taking the wheel?

Best wishes to you both!

dirty, the systems rely on an enerygy source of either green gas or REGULATED co2/HPA. you must regulate the pressure of the stronger gases to get the correct FPS levels.

so, a person who wants to get an FPS of ~500 can dial in a pressure of around 140PSI and a person who needs 350 can just dial in a lower PSI (like 80) to meet their field requirements.

using green gas though, you dont have that flexibility.

I know there hasn't been much word from Blue or Magnum, but i wanted to ask anyways. Will there be a way to put the engine in an elongated V2? You said you made universal, but I assume you mean for conventional gearboxes. i don't know how your box wors, but will there be a "spacer" or something to make it fit?

NBB for svd? That is do able... Much more space to work with.

I was hoping to do a GBB kit for svd's after this project though...

Here is my post about the NBB engine over at Project Suggestions. I realize now I should have posted it here instead

So its been a long time coming...

MagnumBB started it, I joined the team and a few months back, he left.

With so many man hours logged, I decided to keep on working,

- At first this started as a hammer and sear engine. The limitations of the m16 trigger made the project not feasible. - It then progressed to a sliding pressure chamber design. Again the trigger pull of the m16 ( under 1/5 of an inch) did not allow the system to function too well.

Soon, I found myself in over my head. I had the basis of a great idea and It was frustrating that I could not finish it myself. I later decided bring in others to help me finish. With some help from a few guys ( who will remain nameless) in the classic gun scene, a mechanical engineer, an electrical engineer and an industrial designer, the project has becoming closer to grasp and evolved to a Solenoid/Dual chamber driven engine.

the electronics control the firing mechanism for the system, while the regulator(s) off the tank controls the input pressure. The separation of the firing/pressure/timing into different components of the engine has allowed me to focus on refining each and then blending them as a whole. ( I know this is vague, I did write a full write-up of the system, but i was advised not publish it just yet, lets just say it is a hybrid derivative of the Asahi WA2000 engine)

- All of it drops into a standard V2 gearbox (retains use of aeg hop up, barrel and magazines)

- Max input pressure is 100psi (Air is only used in firing)

- pressure chamber is a fixed constant, ensuring consistent chamber depressurizing (firing).

- electronics controls the pressure chamber flow and the firing mechanism.

So why am I telling you all this?

I need to know if it is worth continuing the project.

Would you, the select public, be interested in a Hybrid Co2/Electronic system conversion for m16's/m4's.

Would it fit into other V2 guns just fine? I ask because the hopup of the M16/M4 bunch isn't known to be the most consistent, so I may opt for another V2 gun.

As for interested, I'm definitely INTERESTED, but I don't know if I could afford it as there is no price as of yet. If it were priced reasonable, I'd buy one. Do you have a ballpark price?

Yes, The nozzle had room for play to adjust for differing platforms. Because the system lacks a safety for now, a new board and template would be need to be installed for differing safety systems.

I am hoping to keep to it below the $500 and more towards the 300-350 range, to allow people new to the CO2 world to be able to afford the required parts for a CO2 rig.

Ah, ok. If it were under $400, I would be very interested, then.

woah woah woah. GBB internals for the spring SVD series?

who do i make the cheque out to?

seriosuly, i've been dreaming of a GBB conversion for my SVD ever since i got it!

like you say, theres a LOT more space to play with, that and the fact it already has a bolt and good bolt rails, space in the handguard for a small c02 cylinder, and everything.

whats the ETA on this bad boy? becuase i need it.

I am glad you are excited. I am very excited about this project as well. The principles would be built around the escort concept, granted I have a different design approach to make it A&K SVD friendly. Don't expect BIG recoil, because the frail nature of the gun's frame, but it will be a pleasant surprise.

At this moment the design is just on paper (digital), but it has been peer reviewed by people intimate with the escort design.

But for now, this NBB has my center attention. Once it has been beta'd and set into people's guns, I start work on the SVD engine.

Seeing as how I am officially done buying guns for a while, it appears the only product you will have to offer in the future that will work for me is the A&K SVD piece. If and when you get it past the prototype stage, I will gladly cough up what ever is needed to have one of the first pieces you sell.
