TheFull9
(Thread continued from here.) Magpul'd rifle Number 1, TM SOCOM: Took some blood, a fair amount of sweat, and a little bit of moisture in my eye at one point caused by swarf, but it came out pretty good in the end I reckon. If you 'get' the 3rd pic, you'll have seen the DVD. Hope you guys enjoy.
aznriptide859
^Well don't you look ballin' XD. I'm a few pics too late, but: That's right, Frosty owns a SCAR-L. Do NOT eat his carrot nose, or he'll fill you with bullet holes. On the downside, I actually broke my DSLR trying to take this pic
bbondaloose
If you 'get' the 3rd pic, you'll have seen the DVD. Costa's way of showing where to point a rifle? azn: The P-mag looks quite amazing on the SCAR. Is there any Magpul product other then magpuls for the mags that I can put on the MP5? I can't think of anything, but I'd want something Magpul. Edited January 2, 2010 by bbondaloose

fiddlesticks4220
Costa point's the gun Wing Chun style;) And alot of his weapon work comes straight out of Chinese martial arts, id be surprised if he doesn't all ready know about the relation himself. I remember when I started this thread, I never thought it would hit page 100..... Edited January 2, 2010 by fiddlesticks4220
TheFull9
It just struck me as unusual the way he did that when I saw it. Normally when someone's demonstrating something with their imaginary gun, they just hold their hands up in the exact same manner as if they were actually holding the weapon, the martial arts link could certainly explain it though. At any rate, on with the pictures. Magpul'd rifle Number 2, CA M15: I'd be the first to admit, not as gucci as the TM, but it was my very first AEG bought nearly 4 years ago and it's seen some action. Come a on a bit since it started off as one of these, but still plenty more to be done I think.
EmptyChambers
Not Wing Tsun guys. I don't really know where you got that, but its nothing like it, except for centerline and his tendency to shoulder rifles further in on the body...
aznriptide859
Dang CK, that rifle looks heavy XD. Are those Rainier EMG's on those PMAG's? Do they help a lot with loading? I personally don't see the point in them if you already have a magpul PMAG plate. Edited January 2, 2010 by aznriptide859
TheFull9
Dang CK, that rifle looks heavy XD. Heh, you know it feels it as well funnily enough. Probably similar to a RS L85 weight wise though, so I just stick my 3-point sling on there and I'm in my 'comfort zone', sort of... There is some method to my madness (skirmish wise) however. The 3x magnifier, while having diabolical eye relief, does make for a good spotting/observing piece, and when you're a tad short sighted like me things tend to blur together at a distance, so it's bloody handy. The site I play, a lot of the games are "there's enemy in that building, they can't leave it, go clean em out", therefore I use the magnification while moving towards the fortification in question, and once I get close, take the optic off it's mount and I'm back down to 1x; the M203 of course comes in to play at this stage as well. It's quite specialised admittedly, but I like for the moment. Are those Rainier EMG's on those PMAG's? Do they help a lot with loading? I personally don't see the point in them if you already have a magpul PMAG plate. They're the PTS (Green label I think?) EMGs, couldn't find a place stocking the Rainier Arms' that shipped outside the U.S. Also the PTS ones are dirt cheap, stick extremely well and are plenty grippy. It all depends a lot on how you manipulate your mags whether they're useful I suppose. I my experience the ranger plates are great for extraction out of your pouches, but to me personally I find the main body of PMAGs a little slippery in the hand, so the extra grip seemed like a good idea. I've seen a few people like uscmCorps just putting a few of them on (i.e. 1 layer instead of my 4), which probably makes more sense, but I fancied the aesthetic of the full lot basically. Would very much depend on the individual, I only ever have 1 mag per pouch, so there's not really such a thing as 'too much' grip for me, as I won't ever be in a situation of 2 mags binding against each other when trying to load. alston251
PTS EMGs? Mind if you post a link to where you got them? By the way, I think this is the quickest growing picture thread on Arnies.
uscmCorps
Having an EMG on every available panel of a PMAG ... when inserted in a tight mag pouch (like EI double pouches), I personally find that two PMAG's tend to bind up. Aesthetically, I definitely prefer having EMGs on every panel. But the purpose of the EMGs is to assist in gripping the mags, and having them on the last level (closest to the base plate) on the PMAG is enough to help me get the mags out of the pouch but not bind on the second PMAG in the pouch. Edit : alston251 ... look here. Edited January 2, 2010 by uscmCorps

Exactly my point, thanks mate, I was hoping I hadn't just said something about your kit that was totally wrong, heh. Highlights the point well, basically I think you have to bear in mind that lots of grip/friction on your mags doesn't only have an effect when they're actually in your hand, it can cause issues when in your pouches. As mentioned, I only run with 1 mag per pouch, so I can 'get away' with an EMG on every panel, but if you've got 2 of them in a fairly tight pouch like uscm does, you'll probably only be slowing your reloads if you cover them completely. Here's the link to the EMGs I've got: eHobby. Not sure whether they're the same as the others uscm linked but they are cheaper and mine work just great so I'd recommend them, if you don't want/can't get the Rainier Arms of course. TheFull9
That is a cool looking gat b0p, are you planning to skirmish it like that or slap some stuff up the front first? Also, the pic reminds me, does anyone have any opinions on the MS2? I used mine all day at a skirmish on saturday, having never, ever in my life used a 1-pt sling before. I've got to say, considering the webbing on it is fairly thin, it actually strangely seemed far less painful on my neck/shoulders than some of the much wider 3-pts I've used. Between it and the ASAP plate switching shoulders becomes an absolute dream, and despite being the easiest thing in the world to get the gun off me with the quick release, it never once even hinted at failing when I didn't want it to (which had been a concern of mine at first). I think the adjustment system may have gradually worked a bit loose over the course of the day, but it wasn't by all that much and is very easily remedied. Being able to go to quickly go to the 2-pt whenever you fancy it is great especially, life saver when you've got a long barrelled weapon and you're trying to do other things and you don't want your gun hanging vertically. To my mind, overall, an excellent bit of very practical airsoft kit. Edited January 3, 2010 by CKinnerley
