Recently managed to lay my mits on a G36 with real parts. I had the real mag already - THis has got the HK dual optics handguard and HK foregrip (although Im unsure how to tell if the foregrip is genuine)

Its also got a steel barrel.

The bodys also got full proper markings.

pics of Norweigian Coastal Rangers at Operation Cold Response in Norway this year

Both are real steel, and my inspiration of what I want to do to a my G36 when I get it.

Just hoping that we're allowed to post real-steel pics

That's a nice specimen you have there. I can tell you with a degree of certainty that it is a real handguard. I based this on two things:

1. The gap between the body and the handguard as seen in this pic is typical of a real handguard installed on an airsoft body. http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a16/laded..._optics_002.jpg

2. No copy of the new style G36 handguard you have there exists in the airsoft world.

Man, I wish I could get my hands on a real G36 mag. :(

How well would you say that body matches the handguard? It looks pretty good in the pics.

Cheers for that staticzero

The body IRRC is a Army Code - its got the metal pull handle . The gun was based off a TMG36.

The colour/feel of the Fpregrip matches the Handle but also matches the the body very well.

Heres some pics of the foregrip - THe fore grip mold markings dont match my CAG36 - but I dont have a TM one to check it against.

Perhaps you can tell from these pics if this is likely to be real steel or not - dont think its afake but theres no way of me really knowing myself :(

BTW I can recomend the ARMY CODE bodies - jus the metal bolt handle is worth it for the feel.

One other querie - TM G36s come with shiny pistol grips? CAs have matte - Ive looked at real photos but its sometimes hard to tell if the real steal ever comes with a shiny pistol pgrip - I imagine not....??

I didnt spcify the build with either TM or CA body - sort of wish I had now. Wonder if its easy to swap out...need to find out if Army Code bodies fit CA trigger area.

Yes, as I said it's clearly a real handguard. I only asked about the match as I was wondering how good a job Army Code did there. CA did a good job and so if I were ever to consider switching to an Army Code body it would have to be as realistic looking as the CA body I have now.

No, the real G36 does not ever have a shiny lower receiver. The TM body is quite unrealistic in terms of texture and color to start with, and it will only get more shiny as it picks up oils. The CA body is much better in this regard. The markings will also start to wear away before too long (this not a problem with the CA). It would have been better if you had specified CA, but I guess it's too late for that kind of talk. You definitely need a CA lower to finish this gun off right though. And don't worry, I'm sure it'll fit.

Hey guys... could someone Point me in the Direction of a HK Dual optic... and does it have to be modded in order to fit?...

Ok, a couple of questions. I'm really wanting the dual optic carrying handle for my rifle, but I've heard that the airsoft versions are pretty cheesy to look through. I plan on making my current rifle into a full size with AG36 launcher and the dual optic sight system, but I want to know if the Star sight and handle kit would be usable with goggles. I heard that they have really bad eye relief that makes it almost impossible to get a sight picture. I'd rather not go for a real steel optic, because I'm planning on getting a -K model next, and want to stick a Surefire handguard onto that, and that'll definately cost some $$, don't know if I'd be able to afford both the handguard and scope. (Not to mention I wouldn't know where to find G36 real sight, espcially a non-export version)

The other question I have is, what is the difference between stocks? Is the G36C stock smaller than full size and K models? Would I need to change that out in order to make a true spec G36?

I plan on getting the Army Code body kit, since my rifle looks funny being as long as it is and still claiming to be a -C model, is that reletively easy to put together, and how does it feel compared to the normal TM and CA bodies?

Thats a lot of posts!

If it already got answered somewhere in there, sorry, I missed it, but:

G36c stocks are about an inch shorter, and have a little cut out at the rear. G36 and g36K stocks are identical to one another, and are an inch longer than C stocks and lack the cutout. I think the extra inch really changes the feel of the weapon and makes it feel much nicer.

Anyone looking for the dual optic is in for a hard time - I looked quite hard for a little over a year!

I nearly plumped for the STAR version...

Regarding Army COde bodies - they are a great match to the CA body - which in turn is a close match to the real material.
