Rusty65
Hello, I'd appreciate it if anyone who owns a Tanaka M700/M24/M40 would measure the diameter of their outer barrel at the muzzle? I'm trying to find out if this flash hider will fit on my Well AW338 clone.
08kecarv
The M24, M40, M700, and AICS have different barrel diameters (except certain models like the M700 AICS/M700P and so on). The other thing you have to think about is that that piece is designed for a Tanaka rifle whereas you have a model thats cloned off of an ARES. My diameter of my stock M700P barrel is right about 2cm.
Rusty65
Thanks, I figure that it's a compression clamp fitting much like the flash hider that came with my rifle, so there should be some margin for error. However it would be a $60 gamble without some kind of reassurance from a Tanaka owner.
The Bushman
The M24, M40, M700, and AICS have different barrel diameters (except certain models like the M700 AICS/M700P and so on). My diameter of my stock M700P barrel is right about 2cm. The same endcap fits the M24, AICS and M40a1. I just got my old m40a1 endcap out and measure it at 2cm across. EDIT: just looked at the muzzle you linked to and realised it fits on the outside of the outer barrel. Just measured the m40a1 at 22.5mm across. Good Hunting
