NeoVeNoM
I am suprised that it cost almost $200 less. Sportline? YES! You are right on the money there. If you go an check Ares' website you will see their Sportline versions as well. If you ask me, this S&T armament is just an Ares sub company.

If you ask me, this S&T armament is just an Ares sub company. just found out the "OEM" of the PPSH its made by A&K its sold on every wholesaler as A&K made, not by S&T which is pretty obvious anyways Smart Team haha , there is new cheaper version of Thompson also out made by Snow Wolf. Isamu
Well, seems like "OEMing" is the future in the industry not a bad think, just wait ntil the OEM releases the model cheaper
ollie_ty
Frontiers, do you know who the manufacturer of their Sliding G36 Stock is? Its a hell of alot more accurate than the G&P Version.

WWJS?
DE G36C and G36K's? DE AG-36? I will potentially very much like where this is going. It also appears Umarex will be cashing in on the AEG's as well, damn nasty markings... (at least there shouldn't be legal drama regarding the guns) I hope the Umarex markings on the left side are a sticker (with pure, unadulterated markings under it, like Ares/Umarex's G36 versions released last year). Frontiers, do you know who the manufacturer of their Sliding G36 Stock is? Personally I thought it was Ares producing those, but then I have come across this and this, intriguing. Search for 'G36' in G&P's website and you'll find other stuff like the AG-36 and the two G36 variants as seen in eHobby. Its a hell of alot more accurate than the G&P Version. Although both stocks are relatively similar, G&P replicated a slightly different and older stock model, they replicated the original stock as seen on the Norwegian G36KV3: http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l314/Macs3000/G36KV/6gross.jpg http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l314/Macs3000/G36KV/4gross.jpg In comparison, due to those cavities on the stock tube, SRC produced the more approximate stock replica (no HK trademarks or optional version w/ cheek rest like the G&P's though) for their G36KV. The new, cool stock, as shown in S&T's website is based on a more recent incarnation of the original stock as seen occasionally on the internet (S&T's stock tube has more defined cavities and especially the sling hook, very nice). Regarding other parts, I hope the elusive dual optic carrying handle is produced and distributed in considerable quantities (since those always dry up shortly after popping up in stores). In addition, I'm tired of waiting for info or the official release of the Ares' replica of the B&T RAS (my favorite railed handguard for the G36 series), I first watched that pic in Ares' site exactly one year ago and heard nothing since then (my G36K is still waiting). WWJS?
I know, I meant a hell of alot more accurate compared to the latest G36s. I'm very glad they went with that version (which looks far better IMO than the newest IdZ prototype stock which WE is also replicating). Now would be the perfect time for Element to make a glorious comeback and release their LLM 01 (the closest we ever got to have an economic, functional and mass produced replica for airsoft)... ollie_ty
Agreed, the one WE is making is so ugly. Lets just hope someone makes the G36 PMAGs!
richieffff
Is the S&T TAR21 Explorer availible anywhere yet? I read the link above but I didn't really understand it all that well.
Zombie00
If that G36 is made by Ares is more than interesting, G36KV is the smexist G36 of all, just change the carry handle and with a G36c flat top-rail and you're gold.
winterwolf
WGC is actually selling their PPSH and are considering selling the SVD in near future..
The Saint
S&T is not ARES, both S&T and ARES would probably be quite insulted at the notion that they're related. S&T used to exclusively wholesale, that's a fact, and they were ARES' former exclusive distributor. The relationship between two apparently crashed and burnt last year, there used to be a termination of agreement letter on the ARES website (dunno if it's still there). I would not be surprised if S&T feels cheated by ARES or something, and it's clear that S&T claims ownership to ARES (formerly STAR) designs. So they've set up their own factory (or contracted one, more likely, i.e. A&K) to continue to produce ARES design under the S&T brand, as a direct competition to ARES (yeay~!). And apparently the original G36 trademark agreement was between S&T and Umarex, since ARES is said to be removing the Umarex and H&K trades from future production runs. I suppose the thing that really matters is that the competition between ARES and S&T will benefit consumers. Being that I'm quite fond of some ARES designs, like the M4 (quick spring change, realistic buffer tube) and the G36 (everything), I think we're all winners here. Already, if one look at the G36s, one can see that the S&T price is dramatically lower than the ARES price.
Habakure
Rather than start a new topic, I thought I would revive this one. I'm interested in the S&T TAR21 and if anyone has got one (if so, how is it etc)? I'm tempted to buy one from here:- http://www.airsoftextreme.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=364_646&products_id=5945 Though if a uk retailer (which I have yet to find), starts to stock them, I'd rather buy from them. EDit:- Forgot to put this. Spartan imports have these listed on there website:- http://arniesairsoft.co.uk/news2/38046
adadqgg
It sounds like they are using crappy ABS instead of nylonfiber-reinforced plastic. Not sure if it is worth it(wall hanger still need good externals).
Leon Kennedy
Can't imagine it being worth it. AirsoftGI has been on my nerves more and more, and now they are really pushing this as the "next big thing" to people. ASGI has slipped into stupidity, working as hard as they can to push cheap guns to new players. Makes sense considering they told me they won't stock G&Ps anymore because they have "unpredictable and lackluster reliability".
Bane
G&P? Unreliable and lackluster? Someone over there's smokin' the good stuff.

Surprisingly Evike has not been doing that as much as airsoftgi.
l96ninja
I don't mean to derail the topic, but if you're looking for a great retailer with nice coupons and free shipping, I'd 100% recommend Hot Spot Airsoft. I've found that they're like the East Coast version of Evike and ASGI, except they've got way better customer service, and in many cases, better prices.
