the new M14 kit is a bit of a sting in the side for me as i've just ordered a G&G M14 along with almost all of the replacement parts that it shows it doesn't come with - ie new systema spring guide, piston etc.
but the UMP and the GR300 - now they look nice! but i can see several billion SWAT wannabes arising
the M14 SOC 16 isn't for me - too snubby for my liking
Anyway more guns is always good news.

Its much bulkier than a MP5, the sights are a pain (same crappy sights as G36C), the gun looks odd (it seems that H&K mixed design-elements of 4 other guns together and the UMP was the result) and the gun simply doesn't seem to follow a holistic concept.
The UMP was only made for the "needs" of the US Market to offer a cheaper and lighter SMG as the MP5 is. Of course in the beloved .45 ACP calibre (you know bigbore = badass
But most officers seem still to prefer the MP5 (or they switch to the FN P90), the UMP isn't a big hit IMHO.
So... yes... I don't like it

The Battle of Mogadishu happened in October of 1993; 13 long years ago. The gear from the time is obsolete, and the movie isn't accurate. BPG made the gear for the movie, but didn't exist yet in 1993. If ya wanna be a CAG operator now, ya gotta get a RAV. Being cool is expensive.

On the downside the G&G M14's wood stock is ABS

While I usually don't think much of Armalites, the LR300 impresses me. It's comfortable and well designed. I just can't justify it solely to get the CivCon look correct.
The thing putting me off everyone of these guns is the manufacturer. I've talked to way too many disgruntled customers.
