As seen on the front page, G&G now has pictures of an all wood M14, Socom 16, UMP, and LR300 biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
I personally am looking forward to the UMP, What are your thoughts?

All I can say is... UMP HERE I COME! lol. Ever since I've got into airsoft I've been keeping an eye out for one. Though I'm getting a G36c first. And I'm gonna try mod an MP7 0.11 firer into a machine pistol, 'cause that'd be hardcore. Good old HnK wink.gif

Why can i see a price tag the size of a small elephant for the wood stocked M14?

the new M14 kit is a bit of a sting in the side for me as i've just ordered a G&G M14 along with almost all of the replacement parts that it shows it doesn't come with - ie new systema spring guide, piston etc.

but the UMP and the GR300 - now they look nice! but i can see several billion SWAT wannabes  arising sad.gif

the M14 SOC 16 isn't for me - too snubby for my liking

Anyway more guns is always good news.
"You smell that? Do you smell that? Napalm, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that. I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for twelve hours. When it was all over I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like ... victory. Ya know, someday this war's gonna end..." Robert Duvall; Apocolypse Now

Hmmm I can't understand the UMP hype. Simply don't like the gun.

I've never understood the point of the UMP.

Its much bulkier than a MP5, the sights are a pain (same crappy sights as G36C), the gun looks odd (it seems that H&K mixed design-elements of 4 other guns together and the UMP was the result) and the gun simply doesn't seem to follow a holistic concept.

The UMP was only made for the "needs" of the US Market to offer a cheaper and lighter SMG as the MP5 is. Of course in the beloved .45 ACP calibre (you know bigbore = badass  rolleyes.gif ). You can also notice that if you look at the design of the Pistol-grip (AR-15 style), the Bolt-Catch and some other things.

But most officers seem still to prefer the MP5 (or they switch to the FN P90), the UMP isn't a big hit IMHO.

So... yes... I don't like it smile.gif. And it's not the only H&K gun I don't like. Not everything from H&K is automatically the best choice wink.gif .

Heh.. they had a .40 MP5.. why not just sit with that? The UMP is pretty ugly and clumbersome looking as you just said.

Indeed! After reading the MP7 thread, and looking at that spring body... I'm not exactly overconfident lol. I hope TM bring one out in AEP format, although like said before.. Airsofters aren't known for their patience and TM aren't known for their prompt releases tongue.gif I'm still a fan of the UMP, something about that rediculously long magazine I tell you! wink.gif

If I had the money, the real steel SOCOM 16 in my store would be in my home. If I had it, I'd need the airsoft version as well. Other than that, I'm not thrilled with the LR300, and I really don't care about the UMP at all. Now, if they made an FAL...

The Battle of Mogadishu happened in October of 1993; 13 long years ago. The gear from the time is obsolete, and the movie isn't accurate. BPG made the gear for the movie, but didn't exist yet in 1993. If ya wanna be a CAG operator now, ya gotta get a RAV. Being cool is expensive.

Haji bout how long is the Socom 16. I'm serious concidering getting one for my limited expedites into woodland and looks like they're actually doing Locaps WOOHOO.

On the downside the G&G M14's wood stock is ABS sad.gif. I WANT A WOOD M14!!! When the kit comes out all M16s are going and it'll be SOCOM 16 for cqb and wood M14 for woodland.

I'm guessing about four feet overall. I can take a tape measure to it tomorrow if you like.

While I usually don't think much of Armalites, the LR300 impresses me.  It's comfortable and well designed.  I just can't justify it solely to get the CivCon look correct.

The thing putting me off everyone of these guns is the manufacturer.  I've talked to way too many disgruntled customers.

Supposedly G&G has cleaned there internals act up with the V2 M14s which makes me want the SOCOM 16 even more.
I have returned.
