WGC have recently (at long last) started stocking the TOP replacement gears for the MINIMI.

This may mean very little to most of you but consider this:
An AEG gearbox will die at some point, no matter who made it.
TOP designed their mechbox with this in mind - deciding to make their mechbox very cheap to fix.
A new cylinder and Piston in your Marui box will last you a number of rounds (50,000 is the number I hear quoted) and will cost you a hundred dollars or more to replace with Systema or Prometheus parts, a set of bellows will last you a number of rounds (in my case 60,000+ and 45,000 so far respectively) and can be replaced for $15.
A new set of gears (let's say the same lifespan) will cost you $50? and that's where the system fell down, if you wanted a new set of gears for a MINIMI you were pretty much limited to the ANGS set at a ludicrous price. Now you can replace your MINIMI gears for $19 + the pinion.
Consider also that the crownwheel and pinion are the weakness of the system and it's not one that's fixed with the ANGS set - so if you're ANGS converted it's another possibility for you, you might have to change them a little more frequently but it'll cost you a quarter of the price.

MINIMI owners win all round.

Are these bits common to the M60 too?

I'm in the process of buying a TOP M60 2nd hand so this sort of stuff is just starting to become interesting to me.

I hear some horror stories about the M60s actually from time to time. But I also have a pal that runs a shot and he Loves his M60 to death and still does so I think its a swing or a miss man

They've carried the M60 gearsets for a fair while, and no, the parts aren't common.

The big thing to remember with a MINIMI, and I assume it holds true for an M60 too, is that while they'll run OK stock it takes a little care and fettling to get them running beautifully. Enjoy your pig Sid, I'm sure you'll get a lot out of it.
