airsoftgi.com has it for the same price, and shipping will be cheaper!

I have $300 to spend... if it has better reviews than the M14, there's a good chance I'll buy it.

WAR4 now has the STAR UMP on preorder for $280....competition starts....I'll let the dust settle before I put my money down...but as of right now, I tend to lean towards G&G...

And it (STAR) seems to have the real deal trademarks...

The shape of the handgrip is difference from G&G's one?

The HK mark is a point for buying but I wonder why G&G cancel this.

They both take sticks.
However, I did see some misinformation that the STAR could minis... But there is no way one could ever fit in there.

I don't know if you're being facetious, but the Star UMP was just a kit for a TM G36. All together it ran about $500 for both, and the kit was extremely limited so it went for much more. I've seen just the kit sell for more than $800. I think that G&G has made a smart move by producing this AEG.

the new Star UMP is a full on AEG, not a kit. The kit was from a while back (a few months at least). I know they were originally planning on a full AEG release, and now it has come to pass.

I pre-ordered the G&G one. I liked the look a little more than the star... cant really put my fingre on it. Although i will deffinately need to buy a few mid or high caps when they come out. and get some custom batteries, or re-wire for a peq

i was trying to figure out if, while both guns are $280, they are infact for the same deal. If the G&G one was for a complete AEG while the STAR one was just for a conversion kit that wouldn't be much of a deal.

My mistake. blink.gif At the time I posted this, I hadn't seen that Star was bringing out a full gun. I'm still not sure it's a full gun since there's no mention of motor type or fps and it says compatible with marui piston and gears. There was a conversion kit for the G36, that's what I was referring to. Trades are of little importance to me; the main factors are that the bolt is molded on the Star, it doesn't move. The second factor is mags; they are harder to find for the kit than the kit is. When a company known for making pretty good mags, can't make enough for it's own gun, that's a problem. Finally, the Star doesn't come with the two side rails like the G&G. If you want them you'll have to pay more. I'm not sure if the Star UMPs barrel is threaded either. I'm sticking with my G&G preorder for now.

The star ump barrel is threaded, you unscrew the flashider much like that on a mp5k (the flashider has the male threaded end) the barrel a threaded hole (the female end)

You will need to either buy the specific UMP silencer being released by Star or an adaptor like for the MP5K.

the star one is very tempting. Trades matter a lot to me, so long as its solid and fairly reliable.
