That's been shown in CAD form for about 2-3 months now, the real question is WHEN is it gonna be released? And for how much?

I'll be getting one for sure, no doubt about it, seems better than that Aimpoint 3x setup. Too bad they made it OD, ugh lee.

Either way that's fairly bad a$$.

I would probably still go with the Aimpoint magnifier because it has that hinge design, doesn't it? With a QD mount, the EOTech magnifier seems like one more thing to get lost.

The OD EOtech is teh sex.

Yet, it looks like the field of view is smaller... Or am I crazy? Yeah, I think that's it.

Its not smaller. The battery compartment seems a little larger which is most likely throwing you off. EOTech would be crazy to make their sight's FOV even a little smaller as that is their fundamental selling point over Aimpoint.

I wonder if they bothered to move the latch that keeps the battery compartment in place towards the front at all. Every time I open my EOTech I get my greasy fingers all over the HUD.

I will probably stick with the 512..It's really bothering me that they are making the window smaller.... there is no reason to do it..but the 4x does seem quite cool...if I have $600 around then I would definitely buy one...

The other thing tht I like abt the new one is the fact that they use CR123a batts which would be quite good for me since I have a whole bag of those...

I hope you all noticed that EOtech has re-designed the battery latch? As SS pointed out, you get your nuckle prints all over the front pane of the EOtech when trying to pry open the battery release.

I just got this myself:

Worth every penny, as that always ###### me off how much of an ordeal it was to get those batteries out.

Looks good, I'll be interested to see how the reviews go once it becomes a bit more popular...

Probably just as good as the other Eotechs... But if all else is poor, it sure looks cool wink.gif

SS, no problem, takes about 2-3 minutes to install, if you have a hammer and a center punch it'll come out with minimal fuss, but they include a second pin just in case you mangle the livin' bajesus out of the original.

Best 20 bucks I've spent on any optics, SO easy to get out now, I also have the accucam lever for myself on order, as having a QD mount for the Eotech makes it officially the best reddot I've ever used.

Let me know if you end up getting one.

As well, the EOTech is probably the best, if not one of the best, Zero Magnification aiming devices out there. (I like them ALOT better then AimPoints. Personal preference though.)

What are the benefits of the EO-Tech over the Aimpoint? I've only tried using an Aimpoint and I can't see how that can be improved...

The holographic reticule is the only real presentable difference. It's mostly preference.

I've seen through both of them and they're about the same to me.
